Its been an amazing week and i hope yours is going on smoothly.
Today i decided to create a fascinator using an ankara fabric
Hello everyone @diyhub community am glad to always be here
Thank you so much for going through my post.
The materials i used are
- Ankara fabric, you can used any fabric of your choice provided you use hair warden to make it harder or firm
- Thread:when creating this, your thread colour will depend on the colour of your fabric .
- Scissors
- Hair stay : just to make the akara fabric firm.
The first step i took was to cut out my materials
I measured it to my desired length
I didn't want it to be too big or too small,i went for a medium size.
I made with it a rectangular shape, you can either make yours bigger or smaller, but mine was a minimum size.
I ironed my hairstay on it,just to make it firm, and
i sewed round it,
I used scissors and i trimmed of the excess allowance that i had so that it will be easier and neated when i pulled out the right side of the fabric.
After that,i folded the fabric into two and i made a mark on the centre of the fabric using scissor to create a little hole .
After creating the hole with the scissors,i pulled out the right side of the fabric through the hole
I ironed it and i started pleating it from the top to the bottom
I held unto the middle and i got a thread and tied it around and firmly in the middle.
I also got a small piece of fabric and i tied it around the thread i had tied earlier.
My reason was to hide the thread i had used and to make it neat.
I got my black hair band and fixed it through the middle.
And am glad i was able to finished it today despite my busy schedule
