Hail to the Hive!

After a long wait due to delays in deliveries and struggling through the temperature drop with no heating on the boat we are finally installing the fuel burner. It will truly revolutionise he way in which we live on the boat. It's a game changer for sure.

Narrowboats are essentially a steel tube sat in cold water in the winter and we all know how awful a British winter can be. So the fact that we are finally at this moment is like a dream for us.

We had several options available to us but we decided against a diesel heater and went for the multi fuel burner as it means we can also forage for wood to burn which I rather like the idea of.

I had the help of a good old friend, Elliot, who did the majority of the work as he has previously installed a lot of heating systems in houses but this is his first in a boat.

Let's see how we do!

Mind that chimney. It seems to be a bit stubby. And sparks will fly.

I have to keep a tree cut back away from ours. I have burned wood nearly all of my 55 years. As my Chain Saws are Fun posts says. Would a longer stack be safer? I know you will keep the fires very small. But shit happens. Be careful. And have several extinguishers nearby. No shortage of water tho right...

I bet that warmth after a few weeks of chill felt so good..?

Hey don't shave Cam.!! That Browns hat goes better with the Grizzly Adams look...

I sport that crazy look this time of the year also... Shave/Smave!! Haircut/Shmaircut LoL

Chimney is fine bro and removable for low bridges. It looks a little stubby as its an insulated flue and a bigger diameter then the usual install. But we will be careful and we can't fire it up too much as even with 1 or 2 small logs we have to dial it down and have the windows open
ITS GREAT TO BE WARM!

PS gotta shave @millycf1976 hates it :(

I never even considers the low bridge factor. You would think after nearly 30 years of avoiding them in the trucking industry, even getting stuck under one as a rookie in Chicago, it would have came to me automatically.

A removable stubby...

Now remove that stubble... LoL

I scraped it off. @millycf1976 acts like the cat in the Pepe le pew cartoons towards me when I have an out of control facial hair style. Makes one feel rather unloved haha

LoL...

I get that too...
