Me invitaron a un evento de carnaval y la verdad no tenía disfraz ni nada parecido, porque acá en Bogotá no se celebra el carnaval y jamás he ido a una fiesta de Halloween. Así que disfraz no había, pero manitos sí.
Siempre tengo en mi casa materiales porque siempre he realizado manualidades para mis amigas, para regalar y para vender en mis emprendimientos.

I was invited to a carnival event and the truth is I didn't have a costume or anything like that, because here in Bogota we don't celebrate carnival and I have never been to a Halloween party. So I didn't have a costume, but I did.
I always have materials at home because I have always made crafts for my friends, to give as gifts and to sell in my ventures.
Me puse manos a la obra y realicé un tutu con tul, morado y rosado. Utilicé un metro de tul morado y media metro de tull rosa.
Esta idea la he visto usando una goma gruesa para que se ajuste en la cintura, pero como no tenía disponible, usé de base para mi tutu una trenza de zapatos que me diera la vuelta a la cintura.
I got down to work and made a tutu with purple and pink tulle. I used one meter of purple tulle and half a meter of pink tulle.
I've seen this idea using a thick rubber band to make it fit around the waist, but since I didn't have it available, I used a braid of shoes as a base for my tutu to go around my waist.
La amarré en una silla, y corté tiras de tull de 10 x 80 centímetros. Estas tiras las voy a anudar en la trenza una por una. Yo quería hacerlo un color de un lado y otro del otro, pero rápido me di cuenta que no me alcanzaría, entonces, comencé a intercalar los colores.
I tied it on a chair, and cut 10 x 80 centimeter strips of tull. I'm going to knot these strips into the braid one by one. I wanted to do one color on one side and one color on the other, but I quickly realized that I would not have enough, so I started to intersperse the colors.
Debo confesar que se me terminó el tull, antes de llegar al final, pero como tenía unos pedacitos de recorte, los usé para agregar un poquito hacía la parte de atrás. Como fue algo improvisado no pude comprar más tela, sin embargo el trabajo quedó muy bonito.
I must confess that I ran out of tull before I got to the end, but since I had some scraps, I used them to add a little bit to the back. As it was something improvised I couldn't buy more fabric, but the work was very nice.
Luego me propuse hacer un cintillo o diadema un poco divertida y colorida para aportarle más a mi supuesto disfraz de payasa. Tomé una cinta lila y comencé a forrar el cintillo con silicón frío.
I must confess that I ran out of tull before I got to the end, but since I had some scraps, I used them to add a little bit to the back. As it was something improvised I couldn't buy more fabric, but the work was very nice.
Ops, nuevamente me di cuenta que no iba a alcanzar y lo completé con cinta rosada neón, ustedes dirán que estoy loca, pero para hacer un disfraz rápido no había mucha opción si no ejecutar algo divertido, y para carnaval el color nunca sobra.
Haré unos espirales de limpiapipas con mi dedo, hice unos siete, para pegarlos en el cintillo que terminé de forrar. Los voy a pegar con silicón y voy a presionarlo con una bolita de algodón para que se fijen y así aseguramos los dos trabajos y me queda más colorido.
Oops, again I realized that it was not going to be enough and I completed it with neon pink ribbon, you will say I'm crazy, but to make a quick costume there was not much choice but to make something fun, and for carnival color is never in short supply.
I will make some pipe cleaner spirals with my finger, I made about seven, to glue them on the headband that I finished lining. I'm going to glue them with silicone and press them with a cotton ball to fix them and thus secure the two works and make them more colorful.
Este cintillo quedó muy divertido, me encanta usar y hacer cosas coloridas, creo que siempre me alegra el alma.
Me maquillé lo mejor que pude como una payasa, y me fui a mi evento muy colorida, y a todos les gustó mucho lo rápido que pude hacer algo.
Definitivamente los limites están en nuestra mente.
This headband was a lot of fun, I love to wear and do colorful things, I think it always cheers up my soul.
I did my best clown makeup and went to my event very colorful, and everyone loved how fast I was able to do something.
The limits are definitely in our mind.
