Greetings, Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!
I hope you have had a good weekend! Around here, this Sunday — March 9th — is cause for celebration because it marks the 7th Anniversary of the Curator Cat blog!
One of the very first pictures we shared, of Curator Cat as a kitten!
When we started, it was because we wanted to offer something a little different from the predominant fare (at the time) of everything being about crypto, blockchain and anarcho-capitalists.
In a strange way, it was a similar start to the "Caturday on Saturday" tradition that started in the mid 00's on the 4chan image boards as an alternative to other kinds of content... usually not family oriented.
This all started mostly as a "life and times of Shadow the cat" proposition, but others have been part of the picture, including both our dearly departed Daisy the dog, and white cat BeBe.
In the meantime, our Feline crew has grown to include Smudge, about three years ago, and now Shangri and Nala, as of the middle of 2024.
The grandkids love the cats... so this was also done (at least in part!) as a fun thing for them to check in on, from time to time.
Alas, they don't actually look at the posts here, except once in a great blue moon.
But that's OK... one of the primary objectives was just that we wanted to have fun with it, without cluttering our own blog feeds with endless cat photos!

So who is this "we" we keep talking about?
Well, @curatorcat is a collaborative effort between @denmarkguy and @cosmictriage (aka "The Dad-Hooman" and "The Mom-Hooman") and the Daughter-Hooman, who was a professional photography student at the Art Institute of Seattle when this idea first germinated.
It remains a collective effort, although the Daughter-Hooman (who never got around to making a Hive account) is not a part of the picture as often as she used to be.

The @curatorcat blog was built almost exclusively on content and engagement; we started with US $50 worth of Hive as "seed money" and everything else has come from rewards.
In the seven years we have been doing this, @curatorcat has never powered down! But we have occasionally taken out a bit of our liquid rewards to buy cat food, pay vet bills and such...
Hopefully, we'll be able to keep things going for many years to come! For now, we just are grateful for the support and friendships that have kept is going for the first seven years!

Cat Snaps by @manorvillemike is a place to post pictures of your cats when you don't have a whole lot to say beyond just sharing your cute photos!
Caturday by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!
Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS!
Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community.
There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!

This is a beautiful story. I'm relative new in Hive but I love a lot the cats and find communities like that y a breath. Thank for all the time, you're an example.
