Greetings, Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia!
One of the important thing for happy and healthy cats — especially when they are young — is for them to have access to plenty of good exercise and play time.
Running up and down the stairs is a great workout!
Shangri and Nala have brought lots of new youthful energy into our household, and they are also a good example of how the free toys are often the best.
I know it might sound like a stereotype, but many cats really do ignore the fancy and expensive toys Hoomans design for them, and instead find great joy in discarded cardboard boxes, a good arrangement of cat towers and very ordinary objects.
Shangri, birdwatching!
For example, two of my favorite things to chase around the house are old golf balls (the Dad-Hooman sometimes finds them on the beach when he takes walks) and just wadded up sheets of paper.
Of course, I'm never going to turn down a good catnip filled mouse!
Attacking the catnip mouse!
The Hoomans have brought us plenty of "name brand" toys but much of the tine, stealing a pencil off a desk and batting it around the house is far more entertaining! Besides, pencils can easily be carried from room to room!
The Hoomans still believe they will find the "secret stash" of toys hidden by Orange, one of our former cats!
Getting the Dad-Hooman's attention!
One of my other favorite "cheap" toys was made by the Dad-Hooman, who tied strips of paper together with a long string, and then pulled them around the room (and house) at the end of a bamboo stick from the garden.
Ever heard of "cat fishing?" It's definitely a thing!
Even a hole in a cat tower can become a plaything!
Currently, Shangri and Nala are having a great time with a piece of ribbon the Mom-Hooman tied to one of our cat condos... we have been trying to figure out how to take it with us for further study, but undoing the knots when you don't have opposable thumbs is definitely a challenge!
I'm glad the Hoomans are good at making sure we have entertainment!

Love Cats? Get Involved in Hive's Cat Communities!
If you're a cat lover and often/sometimes post pictures or other content that includes your feline friends, why not become an active part of Hive's growing Cat Communities?
These are some of the more active Cat Communities — why not join them ALL? Many of the allow you to share your cat posts, even if you started at a different community!
HiveCats by @curatorcat is a central "gathering place" for cat content on Hive; promoting the use of the #hivecats tag for feline content!
Cat Snaps by @manorvillemike is a place to post pictures of your cats when you don't have a whole lot to say beyond just sharing your cute photos!
Caturday by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!
Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS!
Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community.
There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!

Very funny cats! They seemed to have fun and games very often. It’s quite entertaining watching these cats doing their funny things. The orange cat is very funny!
