Greetings fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding villages!

Hope this week has been treating you well, so far!

I can hide under here... the Hoomans won't find me!

The Hoomans are in full bloom with their holiday preparations, and I use whatever opportunities I can find to sneak into the living room to examine the big tree they have put there.

It's not as much fun as it has been in years past because there are no dangly shiny things down at the bottom. Oh, how they torment us!

I have been showing Smudge the ropes in her new house, and she seems mildly interested in the tree, but I couldn't talk her into trying to climb it.

She's generally very sweet and polite, and doesn't seem like the "climbing type." Of course, that could just be because she's a senior citizen cat!

The good news is that we are getting along pretty well, and any initial hissing and growling is out of the way. We still most keep to our respective areas of the house, but those seem to be overlapping more and more.

I'm glad she's here with us, now!

Meanwhile...

It looks like Christmas will be a nice quiet affair around here. The daughter Hooman — who just got a new puppy — will not be spending the holiday weekend here because the puppy is not yet housetrained... and everyone also agreed that having a crazy running-around puppy here might distress Smudge, immediately after having adjusted to a new home.

I'm OK with that... I don't really care to have extra dogs in the house. I mean, I put up with our old Daisy dog... but one dog is more than plenty for this cat! And a puppy? Yikes! That wouldn't be something I'd voluntarily want to put up with!

The Season for Gratitude!

Meanwhile, let us all remember to have gratitude this holiday season! As the cold rain is pelting down outside, and I am here in our nice warm house, I can't help but think of all the poor street cats out there who don't have a place to take shelter.

It was more fun when there were ornaments down here!

And with that thought, I need to run... the Hoomans are getting really insistent that I get out from underneath the tree!

Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS! It has a lot of subscribers but is not very active.

Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community; it's there, but not very active.

Last, but certainly not least, a special shoutout to the recently formed Hive Pets Community which has become quite active and has quite a bit of cat content!

There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
