If it weren't for these guys, I don't know if I'd be here today
I cannot believe it has been 22 days since my last post, but the dates don't lie.
Since that time, the guy who had been helping me with all this no longer returns my calls etc, and I cannot figure out why.
I did get two dinged up doors AND the barndoor hardware for them, but I cannot do this by myself.
I also got another person who supposedly had construction skills and experience (Can you install vinyl siding?
I can watch some videos and figure it out)
In 2 hrs he got the bottom metal starter strip and one course of siding up.
Since then everything has been at a standstill as far as the garage is concerned.
I cleaned up for Thanksgiving
Cooked a Turkey Breast and three (😕what sort of bird has 3 drumsticks?) legs
Made home made cornbread hoe cakes for my mama's dressing recipe
Mixed it all together and put it in the oven with Sweetpotatoes
so this:
became this:
Nextdoor neighbor brought rolls, mashed taters and waldorf salad (fruit salad) neighbor across the street brought pies and ice cream.
All this meant that as soon as we ate and visited, and I cleaned away the dishes I fell into a 3 hr food coma ha ha
Next day I set up my Christmas Tree
And I bought a new laser for my front yard
Strung up lights on the tree in back, which I've been meaning to do for a couple of years
I'm not really a Christmassy person, but this year I felt like it.
Then the disappointments began:
I contacted my mortgage company with an unrelated question, and while there I let them talk me into exploring a "HELOC" loan (Home Equity Line of Credit)
I talked with the loan officer for quite a while. It LOOKED like I could extract some funds from my home, PAY OFF my new car loan and have about (I remembered the figure being) about $12,000 USD cash, all the while making a montly payment that was $45 lower per month than my current car payment.
Then the emails started with requiring me to sign here and upload that, which documents showed that I would only get just under $9,000 cash.
It had been my purpose in all this to get the things done in the studio so I could use it for rental income.
It took two days to get back to that loan officer, by which time I was like a deer in the headlights, and was overwhelmed.
This is NOT the time of year to be trying things like that.
So I told him I would look at the new figures and get back to him after new years.
My Cabbages are under glass and doing well so far
My cats were entertained a lot
Interesting perspective on the irrigation

Then I donned my Santa Suit and took out the trash.

I attended a Christmas Party where it appears I was an elf next to santa
So now more very cold temps are coming, and I'm trying to help my neighbor get her yard safe to keep the dogs she sits with from escaping.
Always trying to be helpful. And be a cut up
