Greetings everyone, I had wanted to share with you a cocktail I made for Christmas but due to time constraints, I couldn't, since I was basically working in two places at the same time.
Today I bring you this Negroni, a cocktail that is the favorite of many in this area, its flavor is bitter but at the same time it has those sweet notes that vermouth gives it, this cocktail was invented in 1919 and like the population here, this cocktail is very well received in the world, since this is one of the most famous combinations in the world and its preparation is quite easy.
We start by saying that this cocktail is direct, by this I mean that we are not going to place it in the cocktail shaker, because it does not need to be shaken but it is valid that we use a mixing glass which is what I am doing, this mixing glass must be chilled. As I have previously shown, we place ice in the mixing glass until it reaches the temperature of ice, we will do the same with the glasses where we are going to serve the cocktail, on the other hand we are preparing some orange peels to decorate the glass.
Once the mixing glass is cold, we are going to discard the ice and make our combination in equal parts. This time I will be preparing two cocktails at the same time but the recipe I am giving you is only for 1 unit. We start by adding 1 ounce of Gin
Continuando con 1 onza de Vermouth Rosso
Continuing with 1 ounce of Rosso Vermouth
Luego colocamos 1 onza de Campari, aquí todo es en cantidades iguales.
Then we add 1 ounce of Campari, here everything is in equal quantities.
Gentilmente mezclamos
We gently mix
We can add a drop of bitter to enhance the flavor, it can be classic bitter or orange bitter. At this moment I added ice to the mixing glass again because it was not at the correct temperature, but I did this very briefly because if I leave it for too long this ice will add water, and that would completely ruin the flavor.
The glass, which is also an old-fashioned glass or rocks glass, also has ice, but it is a very particular ice since this ice must be basically like a block of ice since this allows it to not melt quickly and since the drink is cold it helps maintain the temperature, thus avoiding water in the cocktail. The next thing we will do is pour.
Here with the orange peel we squeeze it a little around the glass to add this fruity and citrus aroma.
Finally, it is decorated with the orange peel that we used, and our cocktail would be ready, quite quick and easy.
