During the days of our grandparents and parents where there was little or no civilization in almost every aspect including medicine, they all depended on herbs, roots and medicinal leaves to cure their ailments which indeed helped and because of it effectiveness they passed the recipe down to their children and it has continued like so from generation to generation. My mom actually thought me this recipe sometimes back when I was down and it really help me recover.

Guava, pawpaw, lemon grass leaves and lemon tea is a very healthy tea and a medicinal drink because of it benefits and importance to the human body. Guava leaf helps women in different ways such as reducing menstrual cramps that is as a woman it is a good pain reliever and not just that, it treats vaginal infections and boost immunity both in male. Lemon is a very good source of vitamin C preventing kidney stone due to the presence of citrus acid content, improve skin and detoxification likewise do lemon grass leaves has its own benefits to the human body so in general, lemon grass and lemon, papaya leaf and guava leaf boiled together have many potential health benefits Including antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidants properties.

To begin with our healthy tea, these were the ingredients used and these trees are surrounded by us in our diverse locality.

  • Lemon grass
  • Guava leaves
  • Papaya leaves
  • Medium size lemon
  • 800 ml water

PROCEDURE

Firstly, I had to go plug out my leaves after which I separated the stem from the leaves for the guava, put all leaves together in a big bowl and added enough water so as to make leaves free from dirt. I washed leaves thrice with enough water since I would be drinking it.

After washing, I then carried a clean pot put my leaves inside the pot and added the 800ml of water. After adding water I went ahead to peel off the skin of the lemon and then sliced it into parts and added to the rest ingredients.

Note that the container showed in the above picture is 400ml so I measured it twice to to give me 800ml.

I then put it on fire and allowed to boil for 20-25 minutes to release it nutrients for me.

I allowed it to cool down a bit so it won't burn my mouth and also sieve it which is optional but I choose to cause I want a smooth texture and also store in the fridge so I can warm it up for next time. Consume 240ml per day for twice or three times a week for best results.
