Hello, drinks lovers today a simple drink buttermilk. in Ayurveda, this drink is recommended for all children to old people. Buttermilk(tak) contains probiotics, beneficial bacteria that support gut health and aid digestion. But this buttermilk has to be freshly made and not stored in a refrigerator. Plus added with some herb.
Here is the method how to make this healthy drink.
Buying milk from locals is a very good benefit to making milk products at home. which does not go through the pasteurization homogenization process. I make the yogurt using culture. You can use dairy milk but make a fresh yogurt maximum of 24 hours old yogurt to make healthy buttermilk.
Next day or after 16-24 hours bring the yogurt in bowl.
If you have 1 cup yogurt dilute 2 cups of water into it.
Using the wooden churner churn the yogurt at least 100 times in slow motions so heat doesn't produce in the yogurt and the water incooperate with yogurt.
After we get this smooth form of liquid buttermilk.
A little bit of grains of butter floats on top. because we use normal milk here.
For 2 full glasses, we need:
1/4 tsp each freshly grounded roasted cumin powder
1/2 tsp each salt little less than 1/2 tsp.
2 pinches each hing asafoetida
First pour salt, cumin, and hing in the glass.
Than pour the buttermilk/tak into a glass and stir it well.
The best healthy drink is ready.
Add some mint leaves. and drink it before refrigerating.
Enjoy this drink any time but not at night,
Thank you
Hi @hindavi
How interesting this drink! I have never drunk yogurt this way, with spices that are more used in savory dishes. I think I'll dare to do it. And yes, you are right, fresh milk is much better than processed, industrialized or pasteurized milk.
Thanks for sharing your recipe.
