Fresh drinks don't just have to be cold, but warm drinks can also be refreshing. I have often said that I have been fasting on granulated sugar for quite a long time, so I replaced it with palm sugar or brown sugar. Then I also can't consume too much ice because I have a sore throat when I consume ice directly or anything that is very cold such as food and drinks straight out of the refrigerator. When I want to consume something cold, I usually let it sit first. I will consume the food in about 10 minutes.
The drink I make is rich in fiber, the sweetness comes from sweetened condensed milk and palm sugar, so there is no bitter taste left on my palate and throat. Making this drink is not difficult and doesn't take a long time. My only question is, is there ready-made Lengkong or black grass jelly for sale in your country? Lengkong or known as black grass jelly has a fairly cheap price, namely Rp. 5,000 per kilogram. And this grass jelly can also be processed into various dishes such as pudding, various ices and other warm drinks.
To make palm sugar milk grass jelly is not difficult and does not require a lot of ingredients. The materials needed are:
1. 100 grams of black grass jelly (if it is not available in your country, then instead you can use ready-made jelly or you can make it yourself, although it takes a little time.)
2. 1 pack of sweetened condensed milk measuring 38 ML (you can replace it with coconut milk or cream, or soy milk.
3. 30 grams of palm sugar (the amount of sugar is optional, you can replace it with honey, granulated sugar, brown sugar or special sugar for diabetes, everything can be adjusted to your taste but for the taste I'm sure using palm sugar is much better)
4. 1 glass of water (the glass I use is 200 ML)
5. 1 stalk of lemongrass (if you don't have lemongrass you can replace it with ginger, or you can use ginger and lemongrass together, or if you don't have both, that's fine, this is only used so that the drink I make has a fragrant aroma)
How to make :
1. Wash the grass jelly first with boiled water or which can be consumed directly, this is because the grass jelly will be consumed straight away and does not go through the cooking process first, after washing the grass jelly, cut it into pieces according to taste and put it in a glass
2. Boil water with palm sugar until it boils then add the lemongrass which has been pounded a little first so that the aroma of the lemongrass comes out.
3. After boiling, immediately pour it over the grass jelly that we have cut into pieces and put into the glass and stir briefly.
4. After that, pour the sweetened condensed milk into it, and stir until everything is evenly mixed.
5. Grass jelly drink can now be enjoyed.
The drink I made can be used for 2 glasses if you don't like sweet things like me. And when I made this drink I also shared it with my husband, because there is quite a lot of this drink, if this recipe is still in the sweet enough category for you, just add warm water. It will still taste the same and stay fresh.
