It's rainy season in my area now. There was even flooding in several sub-districts last November. Thankfully my house was not affected by the flood.
But today the air is very hot, the sun feels hot.
Several of my friends and I visited a friend who had died, he was a kindergarten teacher who taught in an area quite far from our city. We rented a car to go there, about 1 hour's drive we arrived at the funeral home. After the funeral was finished, we went home.
On the way home I saw a small shop on the side of the road. There is a clearing and there are many shady trees there. We saw that the stall was providing several drinks. We stopped, I ordered my favorite drink, Es Campur. Since I was little, I like drinking es campur the most. The sweet, savory taste is very refreshing. Especially if you drink it on a hot hot day like today, it's really delicious.
This Es Campur is made from a mixture of colorful pieces of gelatin, red beans, cendol, bread, tape, kolang kaling and grass jelly, drizzled with coconut milk and brown sugar caramel plus ice. Hemm really delicious and refreshing. Imagine when it's a hot day, tired from traveling and then finding your favorite drink, wow, that's really fun.
Apart from eliminating thirst, this Es Campur can also make your stomach full, because the contents of this Es Campur are quite large. So it's like food, but drink. The savory coconut milk added with brown sugar caramel is really complete.
I admit that the es campur at this stall tastes really good, really refreshing, I don't know whether it's because I feel very thirsty and hungry or whether it's really delicious. But it's really good, I feel like I'm in the right place. The sweetness is just right, not too sweet, and I think the brown sugar caramel is a little different, the aroma of brown sugar is very strong and the taste is delicious, I tried asking the seller and according to the lady selling the brown sugar caramel it is made from real palm sugar without any mixture. The coconut milk is also really tasty.
The place is not luxurious, just an ordinary stall on the side of the road, under a shady tree. So the atmosphere becomes cooler. In the field you can also see children playing ball. While sitting and enjoying es campur, we chatted about memories with our friend who passed away.
She is a young woman with 2 young children. So far she has been a good teacher, even though he is a quiet person. That's how death is something that we cannot predict when it will come to us. The most important thing is that as long as we are alive, we must be useful to our family and other people. Love each other.
