How nice to see you here! Drinking tea is a healthy habit that can replace drinking coffee. Of course, if you abruptly stop drinking coffee, the migraines will be epic, so it is good to gradually reduce the number of cups per day, and replace it with tea.
It is a widespread custom in the world to accompany tea with some sweet, cookie or cake. In my particular case, since I live in a country where it is not common to drink tea, I do it without accompaniment, when I drink it hot I drink it alone or with a touch of sugar. When I drink it cold, I add a lot of ice, lemon and sugar, because I don't like very sweet drinks, in fact, I drink very black coffee without sugar; but I know that in other Latin American countries, such as Chile, it is common to drink tea in the afternoons, around 3:30 p.m., and they call it "Once", I don't know the reason for that name, and they serve it with milk and accompanied by salty or sweet cookies, with some jam, and even with a kind of avocado puree. I know this because I lived for several years surrounded by many Chileans.
Thanks for sharing this way of preparing tea.
Cheers!
Hi Sirena, good to hear from you.
I do like to drink different varieties of tea, I find it more healthy than coffee. I didn't drink coffee for a very long time.
I remember that drinking tea with lemon and honey was if you were sick, but now I quite enjoy this tea at any time. I think freshly squeezed lemon is good in tea.
That is cool about the Chileans having afternoon tea, they would fit in well in England drinking tea together 😀. It used to be much more popular in the UK before coffee took over, people would drink pots of tea together and eat cakes. I still have some fond memories of them as a child.
They acquired that custom, precisely from the English, when they were in those lands in the 19th century. I think it is a beautiful custom that, as far as I know, they kept, even when they migrated to other parts.
Hugs, I hope you have a nice weekend
