For the past few weeks the air has been very hot, it only rained once last week, at this time the right thing to do is to pull over on the edge of the mountains where the air is still very cold or take a dip in a river which has fresh and clear water and there are still lots of trees, causing fresh sensation or drink young coconut water with ice cubes and sit and relax under a shady tree while playing your favorite game. However, all of that was just a fantasy because for several days now, due to the slightly extreme weather and my slightly weakened immune system, the flu finally reached my body.
And because of that, I can only imagine spicy dishes and warm drinks going up my throat. My throat was very itchy, my tongue was a little bitter and the fever finally arrived. I went to the doctor for treatment and Sudha didn't get better for 3 days and finally I came back with a new prescription for medicine. And after I returned from the doctor, I really wanted a warm drink that was rich in fiber so that my daily fiber needs were still met even though I was sick. And I decided to make my own grass jelly drink.
The ingredients I need to make this grass jelly drink are very easy:
1. 1 packet of grass jelly (In this recipe I only want to make 2 portions and I only need ½ packet of grass jelly powder, because I want to drink it warm, but if you want to store it in your refrigerator, please pour all 1 packet of powder the grass jelly and mix in more milk and water until it suits your taste.)
2. 1 packet of sweetened condensed milk (because I don't use granulated sugar and I like sweet drinks, I added 1 packet of sweetened condensed milk measuring 65 ML, if where you live there is no sachet size like this, then you can measure it yourself
3. 1 glass of water (actually, in this recipe for making grass jelly, I only use ½ glass of water and I will mix half the glass again when the grass jelly has hardened a little with the milk mixed into it.)
How to make :
1. Put ½ packet of grass jelly powder into the pan
2. Then mix ½ glass of water into it, then cook over medium heat and stir until it boils, then let it sit until it cools and the grass jelly powder hardens a little.
3. After the grass jelly mixture has hardened, start stirring the grass jelly until it breaks, add sweetened condensed milk to it, then add 1 glass of water again or you can add more according to the amount you need, by checking the taste whether it is right or not. For those of you who are allergic to cow's milk, you can use soy milk or cream. It all depends on taste.
4. After that, stir until smooth and cook again until warm, remember only warm because all the ingredients are suitable for consumption, including the water.
5. I can drink my warm grass jelly drink.
In this state of pain and my tongue which tastes bitter I don't think much about the taste, the important thing is that this drink reaches my throat. What I can conclude in my drink is the warm taste and soft grass jelly that goes straight into my neck and the sweet taste of the milk makes my body warm and my nose starts to run a little. And unexpectedly, I ended up spending the 2 portions that I was supposed to share with my wife alone in a fairly short period of time. Hopefully my fever will get better soon and I can carry out normal activities. May you always be healthy and able to continue your activities.
