An infusion, a vegetable and a fruit together in one delicious drink [Eng-Esp]

I salute you, wishing you wellness and wholeness.

Today I come to share the recipe of a delicious, powerful and vibrant colored drink that has left me very satisfied, especially because it contains a vegetable that by itself I do not like in drinks, however, sometimes I look for a way to add it and enjoy it, so I mix it with other ingredients to make it enjoyable for me.

Hoy vengo a compartir la receta de una bebida deliciosa, potente y de color vibrante que me ha dejado muy satisfecha, sobre todo porque contiene un vegetal que por sí mismo no me agrada en bebidas, sin embargo, algunas veces busco la manera de añadirlo y disfrutarlo, por lo cual lo mezclo con otros ingredientes para hacerlo agradable para mí.

Surely by the vibrant color you have guessed that this drink contains beet and the truth is I don't like to drink only beet juice, but this ingredient is very beneficial for health and it would be a shame not to consume it, so this time I mixed it with an infusion of hibiscus flowers that I really love, so I thought that together they could give good results and I'm glad I wasn't wrong.

To balance out the flavors a lot more and to go with the reddish ingredients vibe I added some strawberries as well. I sweetened with dried stevia leaves, plus the natural sweetness of the beets achieving the perfect sweetness without having to add anything else.

Now I'm going straight to the recipe 😉.

Seguro que por el vibrante color has adivinado que esta bebida contiene remolacha y la verdad no me gusta tomar jugo solo de remolacha, pero este ingrediente es muy beneficioso para la salud y sería una pena no consumirlo, por lo cual, esta vez lo he mezclado con una infusión de flores de Jamaica que realmente me encanta, así que pensé que juntos podrían dar buenos resultados y me alegra no haberme equivocado.

Para equilibrar mucho más los sabores y para seguir la onda de los ingredientes rojizos añadí también un poco de fresas. Endulcé con hojas secas de estevia, más el dulce natural de la remolacha logrando el dulzor perfecto sin tener que agregar nada más.

Ahora sí, paso directamente a la receta 😉



Ingredients for 2 glasses:

  • 3 tablespoons dried hibiscus flowers.
  • 1 small beet.
  • 4 strawberries.
  • 2 tablespoons of dry stevia.
  • 2 and 1/2 cups of water.

Ingredientes para 2 vasos:

  • 3 cucharadas de flores secas de Jamaica.
  • 1 remolacha pequeña.
  • 4 fresas.
  • 2 cucharadas de estevia seca.
  • 2 y 1/2 tazas de agua.

Preparation // Preparación:

I heated the water and when it began to boil I added the stevia and the Jamaica flowers. I stirred, lowered the heat to minimum, covered the pot and let it infuse for about 5 minutes.

Coloqué a calentar el agua y cuando comenzó a hervir añadí la estevia y las flores de Jamaica. Removí, bajé a fuego mínimo, tapé la olla y deje infusionar durante unos 5 minutos.

While I waited for the infusion to cool, I washed the strawberries and removed the top leaves. I peeled the beets and cut them into small pieces. Set aside.

Mientras esperé que la infusión se enfriara, lavé las fresas y les quité las hojitas de arriba. Pelé la remolacha y la corté en trozos pequeños. Reservé.

When the infusion was still a little warm, I strained it, although I could have waited for it to cool completely. I blended the strained infusion very well with the beet pieces.

Cuando la infusión estuvo aún un poco tibia la colé, aunque bien pude esperar que se enfriara por completo. Licué muy bien la infusión ya colada con los trocitos de remolacha.

As I did not want to feel the texture of the beet bagasse in the drink I strained again.

Como no quería sentir la textura del bagazo de la remolacha en la bebida colé nuevamente.

At this point I already had a juice infused with hibiscus flowers and stevia, with beets.

As the strawberry leaves little bagasse and is pleasant for me, I finally added the strawberries, blended very well and the drink was ready.

En este punto ya tenía un jugo de infusión de flores de Jamaica y estevia con remolacha.

Como la fresa deja poco bagazo y es agradable para mí, finalmente agregué las fresas, licué muy bien y ya con esto la bebida estaba lista.

En este punto la bebida ya estaba a temperatura ambiente, la mantuve en el congelador unos 15 minutos para enfriarla un poco y esperar a que bajara la espuma.

Finally I poured my drink to present it and drink a glass full of color and life.

I also don't like taking beet juice alone.
Taking it with hibiscus flower changes the game for me too.

I've also tried juicing it with pineapple. And it came out very nice.

Yes well it seems that you have to combine the beet juice with other ingredients to make it tasty haha.
