The mind of man works in mysterious ways. It is one of the few things in the human body that scientists have not been able to comprehend till date. Do the thoughts in our head occur as a result of a physical organ somewhere in the brain? Or is it spiritual? Or does it exist in its own form? Here's a short poem I wrote concerning this.
"We know not where it comes from but it is allowed to govern our day to day activities,telling our bodies what to do, and doing its best to make sure that the body is alive and properly satisfied. Helping us make difficult decisions, and so much more.
Though its main objective is to keep the body safe, it can do a lot more than that, it can imagine, it can dream, it is the difference between good and better and best. It can make or mar you depending on what it is fed.
When it is exposed to positive things it blossoms like a flower, blooming with positivity and light, doing what is best and getting the best out of life. On the other hand when it has been exposed to a lot of negativity and darkness, it starts to wither. It Is gloomy and dark and all it craves for is those things which it has been fed. Seeing those things which poison it as the best for it. It desperately wants those things. All it wants is those things and until It gets It, it won't rest.
The mind of man is an unsolved mystery. We can only groom it."

Yes so true about the mind. It is like a garden - if you tend to it, give it sunlight and take care of it -it will flourish and grow beautifully. If you do not care for it - weeds will pop up and if there is only darkness it will not thrive - only wither and die.
