If there is no moon, will the earth survive?

The moon, however, was not near the earth as a satellite from the very beginning. Earth collided with an asteroid about 4.5 billion years ago today. And then one of those asteroid fragments began to revolve around the earth in the shape of the moon under the pull of gravity.
