Bangladesh: Now is the time to think more about preventive action

If for some reason my house catches fire and if any part of my body burns in it and I don't get good treatment in the hospital, then I blame the medical system. Therefore, our government is more concerned with advanced medical care and takes steps accordingly. But we never know what could be the cause of this fire. We never assess risk assessment during build a house and don't even think about what preventive action should take.

A few days ago, Our government has built a hospital with 107 million dollar for the treatment of burned people. This is definitely a good job. But if we and our government do not move forward with preventive action, our achievement will fail. We will never be able to overcome a catastrophe if we build a building without following the building codes and fire safety measures. The government must also be strict in this regard and take necessary steps for preventive action. We should expend million dollar regarding preventive activities in potential risk sector.

It's just that !! Sometimes the whole building collapses. Then we're busy finding fault about that building construction. The investigation revealed that no regulations were followed while constructing the building. But if this search could have been done before the collapse, then all such disasters could have been rectified in advance. So in this case, our government should pay attention to these issues and introduce a separate allocation for preventive action.

You may be surprised to know that, on an average 32 children die every day in our country of which about 80% die by drowning. Can you imagine that this percentage is higher than the number of people dying from the covid-19 virus in a day of our country ! But our people are completely indifferent in this matter. We know that almost every village has a primary school in our country. Therefore, if a child care unit is set up in each school and necessary steps are taken by the government, it is possible to prevent this silent epidemic.

There are so many example like these. So our time has come to move our country forward by implementing preventive action on various issues. Let we be aware of our self and take the country forward.

This is serious, I once worked in a Plant and their number priority is Safety, Safety...
I wish the Government will consider safety and maintenance importantly.

I hope your government sees this or someone close to them sees this and act fast on your suggestions.

I don't think your government alone is alone in this act, a lot of counturs leaders makes a mistake of rather preventing , instead they focus on control measures

Our government has all rules and law and so many people but something wrong. May be, some dishonest people activities influence the government. Last five year we have over come some this type of important job.

We don't have any personal insurance, even not for our house. The situation is really scary and we need to develop a system.
Good write up!
