Fortune favors the bold, and those who dare to stand firm in the face of adversity often emerge victorious

Djinn Chwala is a strong card in Splinterlands that thrives in close combat. With high health and armor, it can take on heavy hits while dealing back damage with its Thorns ability. I like using Djinn Oshannus not only as a tank to protect my other Units but also to punish melee attackers.
Lore
Dawn of the Djinn 4 of 4 - Only a short time after the Djinn were released, most of them were already seeing their elemental captivity as a blessing rather than a curse. They had far greater power than before, now that they were working with the force of the Planet at their backs. Pursuit of power was at the core of Belludae beliefs, so most of them would make small sacrifices for greater power.
The Djinn have not all found one another, and it will be difficult for them to do so since many of them reside in different elements. This is why several of the Djinn have submitted themselves as cards in the Moxian games, so they can connect with their lost brethren. Gradually they will come together to Praetoria as part of the last lines of defense, channeling the power of the Planet into an impenetrable wall to hold back the Chaos Legion.

Card Effects
Thorns |
Thorns is a great ability for punishing melee attackers. It works best when there's ruleset that forces or encourages your enemies to only use melee monsters.
Enrage |
Enrage makes Djinn Chwala hit harder and faster when it gets damaged. It gives the unit a boost to come back from a disadvantaged position.
True Strike |
True Strike ensures that Djinn Chwala never misses any of its attacks making it more reliable in battle. It is helpful when dealing with high speed or evasive enemies especially since he has huge melee attack.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Djinn Chwala has great health and armor, making it a reliable tank. It also has great abilities complementing its stats. Its Thorns ability punishes melee attackers increasing the damage he can do further. The Enrage makes Djinn Chwala stronger once his health gets damaged and True Strike ensures its attacks always land making it a good offensive option for a tank. |
Djinn Chwala is vulnerable to ranged and Magic attacks, which bypass its Thorns ability. Its slower Speed can also make it easier for faster enemies to avoid its attack when he's lower leveled and don't have True Strike. It can be a struggle if the opponent has abilities that can remove armor or if they focused the attacks on Djinn Chwala since he doesn't have any abilities that reduce opponent's attacks. |
When To Use
Up Close & Personal |
This rule set works well with Djinn Chwala since only melee attackers can be used. Its Thorns ability can be more effective as any attack to him returns a damage back to the attacker.
Up to Eleven |
Amplify boosts Djinn Chwala’s Thorns damage by 1 which makes it even more dangerous. While it doesn't look that strong, units have limited health and 1 extra damage can be a difference between winning or losing the game.
Super Sneak |
Super Sneak allows Djinn Chwala to attack from different positions. This gives it more flexibility other than just a tank. You can put Djinn Chwala at the back to counter enemy's Sneak strategy in this ruleset.
When Not To Use
Briar Patch |
Djinn Chwala already has Thorns so this rule set does not give it anything extra. It weakens one of its main strengths by adding Thorns to all Units. Djinn Chwala also gets damaged by attacking another since it is a melee unit.
Aim True |
Just like Briar Patch ruleset, this doesn't help Djinn Chwala as it does not give any benefits to him. It makes the rule set redundant for Djinn Chwala. It would give Djinn Chwala a benefit though if you're not using a max level Djinn Chwala and he doesn't have True Strike yet.
Blood and Sunder |
Corrosive Ward is like Thorns but only affects armor. This is disadvantagous to Djinn Chwala because armor is a big part of Djinn Chwala’s strength.

Even though there's Earthquake ruleset, I choose to push on offense instead of using Flying units to counter it. I have huge advantage in this battle due to having a unit with Thorns in a Up Close & Personal ruleset and the fact that all of my units can attack at any time even if they are melee due to their abilities.
Final Thoughts
Djinn Chwala is a solid choice for players looking for a strong melee tank with offensive capabilities. It performs well in rule sets that focus or encourages the use of melee units because of his Thorns. The other two abilities just increases his strengths further making him a very deadly unit that is more on the offensive side.
Djinn Chwala can also be a strong front line defender due to his high armor and health. One thing you need to understand though is that since Djinn Chwala is Dragon element, you also need a Dragon summoner for it. Dragon element works like Neutral where you can partner them with another element giving you flexibility on what element you can use in combination of Dragon Element.
