Hawkers are calling for a cheap price to buy clothes or other products with a van they are carrying. Also, there is a huge crowd of people that are buying them to meet their needs according to their affordability. There is also a kind of people whose destination will be those huge shopping malls to purchase their needs. They go there because they can afford this, the first portion of the people can't afford it. Both types of people are meeting their needs just from different places yet with the same happiness or satisfaction. This is a normal picture in Dhaka city, while roaming around the city you will encounter both of the images.
To me both of them are beautiful, what I see is the satisfaction and happiness they receive. Someone is happy with a 5$ shirt and on the other end, someone else is paying 20$ just because he needed a branded one that's what goes with his standard or the place where he lives in. A 20$ shirt won't hold any significant value for that person who can manage himself with a 5$ shirt. Some people can manage their transportation with local buses, some go for rickshaws and some with their private cars. Everyone is managing in their own ways.
This is where our affordability and way of living works. If I talk about mine, let's start with the very first example I can give and that's my mobile phone. I have a mid-range mobile and I have been using it for the last one year and planning to use it as long as it handles all my needs smoothly. I am happy and can manage to change it anytime I want but I am fine with this. Also, I got some friends who are struggling with low-end devices and they are sticking to them as that's fulfilling their needs at that level. Also, I have friends who are buying 13 pro max because they love it and can afford that pretty easily. Everyone is happy from their places with the things they are having, some are happy and some are adjusting. Also, I am happy with my potato pc right now, I can go for a better one but this is not the right time or not I am in extreme need of that. And someone else is sitting on a high-end gaming setup and enjoying his time, he got what he could and has usage, am also good with what I could at that moment and depending on my usage.
Actually, the price tag isn't the main thing that works everywhere. We are happy in our own places and things as our needs. Have you ever witnessed charity programs? If not then go for those, just observe the eyes and you will have a glance of how happy they become over a tiny help you will do to them because for them it means a lot. Even a good meal can make them please, what you are having for the whole week. So things work differently for different people from their respective places.
I get what you’re saying friend, as long as we’re happy with what we have, we should use it for as long as we want to even though we can afford bigger and better ones.
Unlike people who have good phones that works very well for them and yet still want the latest iPhones knowing fully well that it’s above their budget and they can’t afford it.
That’s what makes some of them go into stealing.
