How I Ended My 5 Kilometers Marathon!

in BDCommunitylast year

It is easy to walk 6kph but tough to run a bit of more speed
9kph/32min

I walk 5 kilometers each individual day and I'm used to it. If I walk at the speed of 5.5kmph it is like I'm walking around and bearly sweating to end 5 kilometers.

The speed I started sweating when it started around 6kmph! It is not difficult for me.

Started after sunrise!

I thought as I'm used to walk 5km per day; let's go for a 5km marathon and in my mind I thought I could achieve some place between 1-5!

I have done the registration and waited until the final day to do something extraordinary!!

The marathon starting time was 5:30am and we should report by 5am. The place was 15km away from my home and it is winter morning! I had to start my journey an hour early to reach the destination without any delay.

I fear to miss the start!

I reached the place by 5 and found few people around. It was 17 degree outside but I was feeling like 10/11! The place was an open area and a bit far from the crowd and city buildings so fog and mist has there space there.

The running club just started their journey with this very event so, they couldn't able to make it timely. I had to wait for an hour & 45 minutes to start the marathon!
My encouragement died already!

The countdown starts at 6.45!

I used to do jogging during pandemic at the same speed I walk now but I had to stop jogging and start walking as my leg didn't allows me. Being walking for couple of years it was tough to run a marathon without training!
Before going marathon I saw few videos "how to win a 5km marathon" and got suggestions to keep the speed around 15kmph!
After starting the marathon; surprisingly I found my running speed only 9kmph! I thought to push it harder which brought me down to walk within few minutes!

My dream of 1-5 died within 15 minutes of run! After 20-22 minutes I thought I won't able to finish it. I was sweating and cold wind made my nose runny already.

Walking 5km takes 42 minutes and doing marathon for 30 minutes took my breath away!

Finally it ended just after 30 minutes!

They awarded with a beautiful medal 🏅 for each participants and attractive awards for the winners 🏆.

I've started it and do not want to stop here! I would like to join next one which is 7.5km and gradually I'd increase it.

Thanks for stopping by, stay healthy; stay cool.
