United dispatched Leeds United is such a devastating way. Where has this United side been all season?
This is the first time they are meeting in the Premier League since 17 years now. What a reunion this is and both teams have experienced some fierce rivalry back in the day. It has been billed to be a match to watch out for.
United started on the front foot and took the lead in a delightful fashion when Fernandes picked out Scott McTominay who drilled a brilliant shot into the bottom corner of the net. Three minutes after, the same man was on the act to get his brace.
United were not done as Fernandes hit a wonderful shot in-between legs to leave the goalkeeper helpless. Just before the first half would be over, Lindelof got on the score sheet too.
Leeds United, never to be outdone, reduced the deficit by pulling one back. What really interest me about Leeds United was the fact that, despite being hammered, they never stayed back to defend. A normal team or coach would tell his team to make sure the scoreline doesn't get worse and would employ a defensive tactic but not Leeds. They were trooping out in numbers, producing amazing attacks. They never backed down. They did all they could.
United added a fifth as James added more gloss to the scoreline. Martial was brought down in the box and Fernandes duly converted from the spot and right after, Leeds pulled one back to make the score line 6-2, with Fernandes and McTominay both scoring a brace.
It was an exciting match, with more than 50 shots in target which is the highest in this season so far, in a single match.
United could easily have scored 4 more if Martial, subbed in Cavani would have taken their chances. It could have been a high scoring match ending in 10-5 if both teams took their chances. De Gea produced some brilliant saves to deny Leeds United. They could have scored more than two goals.
United turned up the gear and produced like a primed Barcelona.

It was free flowing football, Bielsa didn't restrict his boys. There were spaces to explore all over the field, I think Martial should have bagged a hat-trick
Absolutely. Free flowing and I totally enjoyed it. Martial spurned too many chances, no doubt.
