Today I came to Brahmanbaria to apply for my passport. Last year, I attempted to get a new passport, but I was unable to do so due to lack of some documents. However, I now have all the documents needed for applying for a new passport, which is why I came here today.
The best way to come from Cumilla (where I live) to Brahmanbaria is by train. Most of the time, we don't get the train tickets because black marketeers and some syndicates always buy tickets from the online counter and then sell them at a higher price in the black market. However, today a new history has been created in Bangladesh Railway.
I decided to come to Brahmanbaria today at noon. The train time was 5.46 pm and I thought I wouldn't get the ticket. But when I opened my 'Rail Seba' app and searched for a ticket, I was just shocked. There were more than 10 tickets still available. I had never seen this kind of scene before. It was a new experience for me.
Then I realized that Bangladesh Railway had taken steps to stop black marketeers who were selling tickets at higher rates. From now on, everyone needs to use their ID card and register on the Railway server to buy tickets from either online or the counter. When travelling with a ticket, they must keep their ID card with them, as authorities will come and check all tickets and, using a POS machine, they will ensure that the passenger name on the ticket and the ID card owner's name match.
So now no one can buy tickets randomly and sell them to others from today. If the authorities do their job honestly, black marketers will be stopped from their wrongdoings. People will receive great service from Bangladesh Railway.
However, today most people suffered while buying tickets from the counter, as most of them were unaware of the new system. Station authorities were trying to help all ticket seekers who were there to buy tickets to register in the railway server. I hope that after a few days, most people will be registered under the railway server and they will be able to easily buy tickets from the counter or online.
However, I reached Brahmanbaria at night. Then I met some of my old friends and had a little chat with them. It was a good time for me. We hadn't seen or chatted with each other for a long time, so we had a lot of fun today. We talked about our lives, careers, and some personal stuff as well.
After a long journey on the train and some chatting with some of my old friends, I am very tired today. Tomorrow morning, I have to go to the passport office to apply for my passport, so I have to sleep now so that I can wake up early. That's it for today. Goodnight for now.
