10 Travel Story Writing Tips:
The happy moments of going somewhere are lost from memory at one time. You can write a travel story while the experience is fresh. Even if it is not published in blogs, feature magazines, or anywhere else, you can keep it in your diary.
But writing a fixed story will not be acceptable to the reader. The travel story will be interesting and readable if you follow some steps. Here are 10 tips to write a travel story.
- Clear storyline: Travel cannot be a story in itself. Rather, it is just a continuum of events. Some events may not be funny again. When writing, you have to decide which events you want to tell and which events you will highlight in the story.
You can see what kind of travel stories are published in newspapers, magazines, and websites. First, write it down as you like. Then edit and shorten as needed.
Goal: Some trips will have descriptions of your physical presence (climbing a mountain, crossing a huge river, and seeing a tiger) that guide the story and have a purpose. In this, the reader sticks to the end of the story. Because they want to know if the goal will be achieved.
Experience tricks: The characters in the story have dialogue, speed, anxiety, and drama. These materials should be brought and arranged in such a way as to capture the attention of the reader. Write the travel story in one to two thousand words. There will be 10-20 paragraphs.
The first paragraph will be interesting: You can start with an event that will grab the reader's attention. A story can be started with a dramatic event, a joke, a conversation, or a combination of these three. But the first sentence must have a trap to catch the reader.
Conversation: Conversation brings the scene to life. Give the personality of the traveling companions a place in the story. You can highlight important information in the story through conversation. When you visit, you can take notes on what people are saying and how they are saying it.
Showing and telling: Both storytelling and telling techniques are used in every story. You can use this technique without any worries. When you slow down your event and give a detailed description of a scene, he is asked to show it. What you have seen, heard, felt - you are showing the reader with your eyes. The incident is being described.
Pleasing, not influencing: New writers often try to write in literary language. Good writers usually follow Ernest Hemingway's words. "The best and easiest way is to write down what I see and feel," he said. However, do not write anything incomprehensible to the reader.
Clear language: Travel stories usually contain meaningful words and phrases. Try to use a specific language. The language you are describing is like a picture in the mind of the reader.
Guidelines: When traveling to a new place or country, if you do not take a guidebook, you usually follow the signposts. The reader also travels to that place in your story. Let them know in every paragraph then where you are going. Remind them of your ultimate goal.
