Indeed. There is pain and the loss of love.
This line precisely shouts out the pain of loving someone, who states that they love you, but in return, they don't. People say a lot of things but they are unable to fulfill and even if you try a million times you still will not be able to reach them. Because they actually never fell for you, maybe it was a mess but not love in the actual sense.
I hope I could clear it out. She basically yearns for this person but he doesn't feel the same way. Something like that.
