The lastest issue of Turni had me thinking about this for a while. And even after finishing writing this post below, I for some reason, didn’t submit it. I guess this insecurity came from being new and self conscious, but I'm trying to move pass that. So I thought, why not just drop it here?
So yeah, here I go...

Farming was something I was rather ignorant about before I entered the hive community. And I must say that the concept sort of baffled me when I first got to see to what extent it went to, at least in this platform.
By nature, I am a very analytical person. And I always tend to do at least a tiny bit of observation before jumping into something. And because of this, on the get-go, when I joined the community, I used to spend hours (which I sadly don’t do anymore and shall to get back to asap...:3) surfing the community page, reading what others wrote so I could get an idea of the place.
And if I am being honest, the quality of posts, at least back then, had been somewhat disappointing. Even if I am an amateur, I am still a writer, and seeing useless spinning of words saying the exact same thing over and over on post upon posts had irked me greatly. For a while, I even started to believe that this was the quality that the platform expects from everyone, and that was indeed a shame.
As a youngster who hasn’t even been on the platform for a year, I don’t think I have the right to speak about writing quality and how it relates to farming in general. Some people may indeed need a helping hand to improve, but the sad thing is, I have seen many users with a regular posting schedule posting here for months, and none showed any improvement in quality. Which really sums up their reason for doing so.
It is true that the more you write, the more you improve. But if your writing pattern is, “Honesty is the best policy. It is the best quality of human life. The best quality in a man is honesty” over and over, then you aren’t really aiming for any improvement, at least according to me. For a while, I even used to use posts like these as a laughing stock to get my inferiority complex down. (I’m not really proud of doing so..but then again..meh!) But then, I began to wonder, do these writers even know what they are doing?
So off to BDC discord I went. And with astonishment, I saw that most of them either didn’t care or were rather proud of their little 300 words posts about the flower they saw or the vegetables growing in their gardens. Which again, kind of baffled me.
I’m not saying posting about your beautiful garden or your hand-grown vegetables is a bad thing. But there is a thing called presentation, and to me, when something is written with care and emotions, the beauty of the words bleeds out no matter the length or size of the piece. You can’t hide genuinity in writing. And pieces that are bleak and blank with zero attachment from the writers stand out like a monument over the rest.
In the end, it all leads towards money. We are all here to earn a little bit and afford a better life. But abusing a platform like this without giving it anything in return isn’t anything to be proud of. Writing without any attachment to what you wrote, is just wrong.
And there is the whole Plagiarism thing, which is a sin. If you have to milk the system, at least do it with what you have, yeah? Why steal? It’s just not justified.
This is not a call out to the users of hive or anyone in particular from Bdc. Lately, because of our hardworking curators and seniors, the situation is indeed improving bit by bit, if not a lot. We now have some amazing writers who are stepping up to be inspiration for the new users. But the community still has a long way to go. Let's just hope it doesn’t go downhill from here on.
brattttt... farming, eh? very controversial topic I must say... do you remember the phrase vanga tape recorder?
"these posts" often seems like them... not only they lack ingenuity, they're repetitive and mundane with a incomprehensible reluctance to improve
True indeed!

Yeahh Medusa. I thought I'd give this topic a whirl and see what comes out of it.
I know. Those posts are just... cringe worthy. And when you have to dig out the good posts from hundreds of posts like those, you really lose the interest to read on. At least, that's what happened to me in case of reading BDC posts. But I'm trying to get back to it 😅
This is absolutely true because when that writing spirit as I term it gets on any great writer, the genuineness, passion and emotion can be perceived in the writers choice of words and of course tone depicted. Lovely write up here I must tell. I wish everyone on hive could read this. !PIZZA
Hi there!
Thank you for giving this a read.
And I know. Posts that holds no depth are really waste of words. And I don't really like that. Writing should come from the inside. It's not something you have to force, you know?
Yeah. Exactly we really don't have to force writing there should be a drive and passion.
