They say that sometimes when life gets hard you just gotta romanticize it a little bit. You can dress up yourself, read a book, sip a tea, sit in the garden near a lake, or do little dances like the princesses from the old Barbie movies.
Now, let me tell you a tale...
Once upon a time, my friends and I had a simple little tea party at Cascade Nature Park. You can find this lovely place in Carmen, Cebu.
Our primary goal for going there was to film our one-act-play which was a performance task for our Arts and Theater class.
I played a character whose name is Lady Abeliene. She's a self-conceited painter who got invited in her friend's tea party, Lady Catherine, who's known to be boastful. So, basically, all the characters in our play have this not so ideal of a personality. It was a fun play written by Atet.
However, aside from filming our play, our main purpose for choosing Cascade was to relax and to romanticize life by pretending we are some kind of ladies from the 18th century.
The place is filled with different hues of green giving off a cooling effect to both our eyes and souls.
All you hear while you are there are the sounds of the running water, the chirping of the birds, the sound of the leaves brushing one another everytime the wind blows. Everything were like music to our ears.
The lily pads floating on the lake underneath the bridge immediately reminded me of my favorite painting of Claude Monet. I am totally obsessed that I had to capture multiple photos of it to use as my painting reference.
The ladies and I placed a blanket on the grass and arranged the snacks we bought for the shoot. And of course we decorated it with some flowers and books and with the lovely little teacups.
Jo helped me take some lady-like photos featuring every corner of the place. I know how much effort Jow poured into capturing my photos especially that I'm someone who's kinda awkward and whose signature pose is a peace βοΈ.
I swirled and turned and hopped, glide, and did little ballet dances while my friend took snaps of my silly actions. I'm just glad it turned out great. Jo really is the best one at capturing photos among us.
Right after filming our one-act-play, we went on to the pool area where they all took a swim except for me. I just sat their on the corner soaking my feet while watching them.
Visiting Cascade Nature Park is one of my core memories in college. I definitely would want to visit the place again.
Slowing down and taking a moment to appreciate every tiny details of nature around us is just so beautiful of a thing to do.
Here's a little info, Cascade is a well-known venue use for filming prenup wedding videos and for photoshoots. And I totally get why they choose this place for such things.
Aside that it perfectly highlights the beauty of nature, it also feels magical and it transports you to a different dimension where you can appreciate how beautiful life is.
I love the aesthetic
