Happy Sunday everyone!
It's a stormy day in the mountains of Upstate NY, a thick coat of ice has been forming here since last night, covering the trees, windows, decks and yard. It's rather gloomy. But with this week's Season Hunt Challenge, after lighting a few candles and my aromatherapy diffuser, my mood changed from glum to cozy.
As a gift to myself for Christmas, I bought an aromatherapy diffuser with an assortment of essential oil blends. The diffuser I purchased has a lighting feature which changes colors continuously as a stream of scented mist flows out of the top.
For years I did what my mom did to send moisture and pleasant scents throughout the house. A small pot of water would slow boil on the stove, my mother would add spices like cinnamon, nutmeg or dried lavender to the water and let it go all day long. Our house always smelled good enough to eat, in fact, I can remember coming home from school, charging through the backdoor and smelling apples and cinnamon, thinking, yes, mom made apple pie today, only to be disappointed to learn it was just her homemade diffuser.
With the dark, frigid weather outside, candlelight and sweet aromas can sure boost your spirits. I am glad to have this challenge today, it has turned my frown upside down.
So glad I haven't dismantled my Christmas tree yet, happy for the lights on this cold winter day.
The fireplace is burning, warming our home, the candlelight glows, as the scent flows. It's a #beautifulsunday, as ma and pa enjoy each other's company.
This is my entry in the Season Hunt Challenge from the #feelgood community.
All are welcome to join in on the fun!

Thanks to @barbara-orenya for hosting the challenge as well as all the beautiful artworks.
Have a great week y'all!
Sounds so lovely at your house!
I was never much one for candles, being memory impaired is not a good combo with open fire...
And the only time I have scents in the house is during the Christmas season. I have 2 scented candles and they sit near-ish to the wood stoves and give off their scents without burning. I've used them for years like that, put them away at the end of the season.
We had ice here, just enough to be dangerous walking, so I stayed inside.
Good evening, we had at least a 1/2 inch of solid ice up here that covered everything. I did go out for a short walk today with cleats on my boots. But it was so cold, I didn't stay out for long.
Cabin fever is setting in here, most days are dark and cold, so I clean, cook and watch movies or read.
Luckily, we are going to Florida soon, really looking forward to it. As much as we love each other, the hubby and I tend to get on each other's nerves this time of year . hehe
You know what they say, shit happens.😁
Yup!
My pleasure luigi!
