Building Up Wardrobes for My Children

in Feel Good2 days ago

I have noticed that 2 of my children's clothes are much more that their previous small storage containers can no longer fit all of the clothes in.

Not just the amount of clothes have grown, the sizes of their clothes have also grown, which will definitelt require more storage space.

Recently I have invested in some wardrobes that requires my own hands on as these storages come in their dissembled form. It was not difficult and I found myself enjoy setting them up.

I received 2 of my storages that I bought from the online shopping platform, Shopee. One is in a drawer type and another is doors type. They both came in boxes outside my house door. My children came home exclaiming, "Oh my Mummy!" As they were blocking our doorway.

Let's open up the drawer type first as I think it should be easier to be fixed.

Though I could have waited for my husband to do it, which need to wait for some days as he had to work, I decided I should try to fix them myself. Maybe because it is also a good way for me to have a break from the starting school stress.

Firstly, we must wipe down all the parts and drawers.

Their parts are all to be seen at one glance so it was rather easy to assemble one layer then all I needed to do was just repeat for the next layer and the next.

This little "helper" was here to help, after all it is to store her clothes.

More wiping after I set up the layers.

This was to a shorter piece like a stand at the most bottom layer. I thought there were wheels but nope, I was wrong.

One more layer to go. She was left with lesser to play with.

Voila! Now the whole frame is done.

Now after the drawers are inserted in, it is basically done but I decided to label the different drawers to ease others and myself when I need to find clothes for the baby.

Last step is of course to put in the clothes. I am trying this way of arrangement to ease us when we are choosing clothes. It is easier to be seen.

Not the tidiest, but the best I can do.

Next let's build the 2 doors wardrobe!

This was slightly more complicated I think. Though it came with some pictures and instructions, I actually did some steps wrongly and had to undo them.

This cupboard has 4 layers. Every layer is like a foldable box and we can stack one layer on top of another.

All we need to do is actually fix up the four panels which are already attach to its respective layer. Just lift up the panels and hit it up against another panel to hear a locked sound then it is done.

This is how each layer looks like. It comes with 4 round magnets and door handles so the doors will close by being attracted to the magnets.

It also has a secure lock handle at the side to attach to the layer above.

Stack them up and there you go, it gets hugher and higher.

Place the most bottom layer upside down and install the wheels.

Attach the top cover on the uppermost later.

Tadaaaa! All done.

I pushed it into my boys' room.

The initial intention was to replace the drawers at the side but I may need to come up with another plan as this is taller than that.

Anyway let's just fold the clothes and keep them in according to the category, too.

I sure hope these 2 storages will help us in storing the clothes better. I must teach the boys to maintain them too. I did feel good I accomplish this and did it myself at the end of this task of reorganizing.

Do you have better storage ideas for growing children?

Haha I also need to save up for a sturdier containers but not drawers as I will tend to forget about it / pile up even more things that should be cleared out
