After eating an early birthday dinner at Haidilao, we had to walk about for a while because our tummies were too stuffed from the hotpot! So we walked around looking for a top for one of us and then we also went into a skin care shop to get her moisturizer. After the walk, I felt a bit more relieved.
The night was still young! So we went for a second round.
We arrived at The Loaf. This is a cafe that used to belong to one of our former prime ministers, but it has been sold off. Now the chain of this cafe is still expanding, so that is good to see.
So we went in to check out the menu first before we went in.
It has Healthy Choices section which is appealing to me. Hahaha.
This is their display cabinet of their bite sized snacks and then some cakes.
This is the logo for The Loaf.
I saw their stairs which has gold paint on it as we were walking down to the table areas. It also has another level to walk up to for more seating area.
My coffee-drinking friends ordered Cappucino for themselves. They did different coffee art for the 3 different cups.
The birthday girl @michelleloh168 ordered Honey Lemon.
I ordered a Peach Mocktail. It was actually very refreshing, yay!!!
Look at my friend, able to enjoy her cappucino slowly, because three of us who are mothers kept the children at home that night hahaha!
Cheers to the birthday girl!!! We will always celebrate you!
Though the children were at home, our topic still revolved around them that night. My friend told us some stories about her children that was so funny that she laughed till tears rolled down. We did have a very relaxing chit chat time and glad we went for round 2 because round 1 required us to give some attention to cooking at the hotpot.
We sat down and talked till about 930 or 945pm when the shops are starting to close. The waiter brought our bill to us to hint us that they were closing. We got it!
We tried to walk back the same way to our parking but we found the usual entrances and links were closed already. Hence we walked out to cross the busy road and joined in the night crowd. Haven't felt this atmosphere in a long long while because at 8pm, I usually ready the kids to sleep hahahahh.
This is like a prime city area so even when shops are closing, the crossing and city crowd is still a lot!
As we were looking for the entrance to our parking, I missed a step and fell on my knees. Hahhaha. But I was okay.
After we finally reached the car park, we lit the candle on a small humble brownie cake I baked for the birthday friend. Then we sang birthday song for the birthday girl!!! Bless you Michelle for your desires to come true and you to know how precious you are. To know that you are always important and also that you are able. Bless you with new grace for your current state too.
And that was how we call it a day. I reached home at 1130pm and I was happy hahahah. Haven't gone out late in a long time, you know!!!! And that night, I did not need to abide by bedtime for the children because their dad did it, yay!!!!
Amen! Such simple words, yet it's a lifelong learning. Thank you again for the reminder. 😭💓
