Doing some charity work

in Feel Goodlast month

A few months ago, my brother took the Civil Engineering board exam and fortunately became part of the board top notchers. Our family, most especially my parents, were the happiest. So as a thank you, we bought 60 packs of Jollibee chicken joy, yum burger, and peach mango pie to be given to our customers during that day.

Then my father told us a story his uncle (our grandfather's sibling) shared to him about a young boy from China.

This boy went to a province in China to visit a palm reader. "Here, take all my money. Buy yourself some food and clothing. Do whatever pleases you. If you come visit me again next year, I will treat you with a delicious dinner." The palm reader said to the boy. The boy did not know what the palm reader was up to but took the money and said goodbye.

On his long way going home, he saw an old beggar in the streets asking for food. With the money given by the palm reader, the first thing he spend was to buy food for the beggar. After which, he continued his way back home.

Many things had happened but finally, after a year, he managed to visit the palm reader again, which shocked the palm reader of his arrival. He then confessed to the young boy what he read through his palm. The young boy was supposed to approach death within a year. But because of his act of kindness, he was shielded from that unfortunate event.

This may or may not be a true to life story but one thing is for sure, an act of kindness and humanity will always come back to the giver ten folds.

In the future, I hope we can do more charities as a family to show our gratitude for all the blessings we've received.

My dear Hivers, always remember that a simple act of kindness goes a long way.

That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!

Sending some love and light

With love, Jane
