A couple of days ago, when I found out about this phone photo contest I knew I had found a new place for me on Hive, but I didn't imagine that I would start with something about architecture. I'm not surprised though, and although I've been trying to connect with nature these days, since I moved to Caracas I keep admiring the big buildings in the capital. I think it's because in my native Maracay it's not very common to see towers. I smile when I share these photos, and I start to think what people must imagine when they see me taking pictures of a building so normal and everyday for everyone in the middle of the street.
Hace un par de días, cuando me enteré de la existencia de este concurso de fotografías con teléfono supe que había encontrado un lugar nuevo para mí en Hive, sin embrago no imaginé que comenzaría con algo de arquitectura. Igual no me sorprende, y es que aunque he tratado de conectar con la naturaleza estos días, desde que me mudé a Caracas no dejo de admirar los grandes edificios de la capital. Pienso que se debe a que en mi natal Maracay no es muy común ver torres. Sonrío al compartir estas fotos, y es que me pongo a pensar lo que debe imaginar la gente cuando me ve tomando fotos de un edificio tan normal y cotidiano para todos en medio de la calle.
Torre Provincial
This is the BBVA Banco Provincial Tower, and I love it too much, especially this day when there were subtle blue clouds that perfectly matched the colors of its design. In this part of Caracas you can see the tallest buildings, the towers of Parque Central, the Torre del Banco Mercantil and the misnamed Torre de David, an abandoned building that can be seen from almost anywhere in the city, and even that one I never get tired of admiring, and I love the different architectures that can be seen in any corner, both classic and modern design buildings.
Esta es la Torre BBVA Banco Provincial, y la amo demasiado, especialmente este día que había sutiles nubes azules que combinaban a perfección con los colores de su diseño. En esta parte de Caracas se pueden apreciar los edificios más altos, las torres de Parque Central, la Torre del Banco Mercantil y la mal llamada Torre de David, un edificio abandonado que se ve casi desde cualquier parte de la ciudad, e incluso a ese tampoco me canso de admirarlo, y es que me apasiona las diferentes arquitecturas que se pueden ver en cualquier rincón, tanto los edificios de diseño clásico como los modernos.

I have been in the capital for eleven years and the area near Bellas Artes has been my home for rehearsals and concerts. I enjoy walking a lot and I am glad to know that I still let myself be amazed by the everyday, in fact I always find something new to see even though I walk the same streets every day. I wanted to show these pictures because they are places that I have admired from the outside and I don't know them inside; I think the only one I might know soon would be the Catholic Church, but the towers, the red cross, and the Amézquita seem to be a little more exclusive.
Tengo once años en la capital y la zona cercana a Bellas Artes ha sido mi hogar respecto a ensayos y conciertos. Disfruto mucho caminar y me alegra saber que aún me dejo maravillar por lo cotidiano, de hecho siempre encuentro algo nuevo que ver aunque camine por las mismas calles a diario. Quería mostrar estas fotografías porque son lugares que he admirado desde afuera y los desconozco por dentro.; creo que el único que podría conocer pronto sería la Iglesia Católica, pero las torres, la cruz roja, y la Amézquita parecen ser un poco más exclusivas.
I have the joy of having moved to a city that I always liked, although now that I have finally traveled beyond my borders I know the beauty of true metropolises and I feel that despite the beauty of the Venezuelan capital, this place could be better; there are parks, interesting architecture and historical places throughout the city, I think it just needs to look cleaner, but that is the duty of all Venezuelans. Just today I left the Sambil de la Candelaria eating a Mc Flurry, something I never do, but I didn't find trash cans on my way home, so that plastic cup and its spoon made it to my house, I wish everyone did that, I find it hard to throw it on the ground because I know it's wrong, but I think it's another reason for people to see me as crazy, since any place seems to be good to throw trash...
Tengo la dicha de haberme mudado a una ciudad que siempre que me gustó, aunque ahora que al fin he viajado más allá de mis fronteras conozco la belleza de verdaderas metrópolis y siento que a pesar de la belleza de la capital venezolana, este lugar podría estar mejor; hay parques, arquitectura interesante y lugares históricos en toda la ciudad, creo que solo falta que luzca más limpia, pero eso es deber de todos los venezolanos. Justo hoy salí del Sambil de la Candelaria comiendo un Mc Flurry, algo que nunca hago, pero no encontré botes de basura en mi camino a casa, así que ese vaso de plástico y su cucharilla llego hasta mi casa, ojalá todos hicieran eso, me cuesta lanzarlo al suelo porque sé que está mal, pero creo que es otro motivo para que la gente me vea como un loco, ya que cualquier lugar parece ser bueno para botar basura...
Anyway, I wanted to leave for the end these three night photographs, because everything looks different at nightfall. The twin towers of Parque Central are illuminated with beautiful lights that simulate the tricolor of the Venezuelan flag, and it looks great from any angle, and the Sambil La Candelaria shopping center looks more elegant with the special lighting. Being in this area is a contrast between stress and beauty, but I always choose the latter to make my days more peaceful. I say goodbye with a last picture I took this morning where you can see part of the mall, the Torre Provincial, the Torre Mercantil, the decadent Torre de David and the Red Cross, in fact I think I could have taken a better picture, maybe I will try again tomorrow...
En fin, quise dejar para el final estas tres fotografías nocturnas, y es que todo se ve distinto al caer la noche. Las torres gemelas de Parque Central son alumbradas con hermosas luces que simulan el tricolor de la bandera venezolana, y luce muy bien desde cualquier ángulo, y el Centro Comercial Sambil La Candelaria se nota más elegante con la iluminación especial. Estar en esta zona es un contraste entre estrés y belleza, pero siempre elijo esta última para hacer mis días más tranquilo. Me despido con una última fotografía que tomé esta mañana donde se aprecia parte del centro comercial, la Torre Provincial, la Torre Mercantil, la decadente Torre de David y la Cruz Roja, de hecho creo que pude tomar una mejor fotografía, quizás lo vuelva a intentar mañana...

When I go to the city, I also stare at how tall some buildings are and imagine how it will feel to see everything from the top, it makes me dizzy and curious at the same time haha 😂 the night city looks very different, more beautiful I would say, with more magic ❤️
