SVT Follow Tour Bulacan: Core Memory of a Kpop Fan

in Feel Good ā€¢ 3 days ago

Hello, Hivers! šŸ„³āœØ It's @lizhavesomefun again, and I'm back with another story to share. As I mentioned in my previous blog, January was draining. When other months feel like a blur, January, in particular, made me think all its days to my core. I was so absorbed in "survival mode" that it made me lose time for myself. However, that's not all that's heartbreaking for me. What saddens me the most is that I must cancel my plan to attend the Seventeen Right Here Bulacan concert.

Just like any other concertgoers and K-pop fanatics, I, too, together with my elder cousin, lined up for our tix (tickets) online at SM tickets last November; I was excited even though that was a bit frustrating since the queue was almost 200k peopleā€”but still, I was hopeful that we will secure ours. And we did; we had Floor Standing ticketsā€”since we also had the same ticket for last year's concert and were beyond satisfied with the proximity.

However, when we realized that we would be busy by January, we hesitantly sold our tickets with our hearts broken.

Luckily, it was sold after a month. Just last 18th and 19th of January, the concert was held at Bulacan at the Philippine Sports Complex, and all I can do is reminisce about our old concert experience at Seventeen Follow Tour Bulacan.

Iā€™ve been a Carat since high school. In 2022, I successfully converted my cousin to slip into the diamond life as wellā€”little did I know that she would take this very seriously. For starters, she started collecting their albums and merchandise; note that this is her very first group. That's why I was pretty surprised when she booked us tickets to the Follow Tour last yearā€”and I'm very thankful for her initiative and enthusiasm hahaha; this was my chance to see my idols, after all.

After she booked our tickets, we immediately flew to Manila and stayed at Valenzuela for a day and a half. Since she's a city resident, I did not worry about things like finding accommodations (hotels, etc.) I was grateful that my cousin was generous and would let me experience this once-in-a-blue-moon moment, even though she didn't have to.

When D-day came, that's January 14th last year, I was excited since I really considered this one as once in a lifetime opportunity. My cousin got us into a shuttle bus. However, we still have to prepare very early (we woke up at 5 am) since we're in Valenzuela. She said that the line would be very long and tiringā€”she didn't need to say more about that because it was not just tiring, it was literally draining. Thousands of people lined up under the heat (us included) to get inside the venue. The waiting game almost took my patience away. Still, all bad things end when I finally have my bracelet, and I also get a freebie friendship bracelet from a fellow Carat.

This is so cuteeee :<<<

Alas, the concert will start at 7 pm, and the doors will open for us (floor-standing ticket holders) at 4 pm; another waiting game has been unlocked for us to conquer. I will skip this part because I fell asleepā€”I was not built for this, like the big crowd, heat, and all-day standing; it's just draining.

I was very happy that my cousin chose a spot near the stage because then I would see them clearly.

When 7pm was nearing, we couldn't hold back our anticipation, and I started vibing with other carats as some began to chant songs. I nearly lost it when I finally saw them onstage. Gosh, they really are handsome and tall.

Yes, your honor. We are Minghao stans, hahahaha ><

I enjoyed their performance as much as they enjoyed performing. It was a shame that S.Coups (their leader) could not attend since I was really excited for him to perform that iconic line in Clap.

Still, nonetheless, the concert was just chef's kiss, especially during the God of Music.

It's no news that the Filipino crowd knows how to uplift the musicians or concert holders onstage, and Filipino Carats with their main character syndrome is no exception. Still, I'd say they had the rights to be one! Their energy is unmatched! And it was clear that the boys onstage were also enjoying and living on that energy. It was also very enjoyable even though I don't know some of the fan chants and song lyrics. Still, the crowd's energy is contagious that it's just okay to scream and shout without any worries.

It was so fun that my cousin and I almost forgot to take a selfie since we were so into the moment. We managed to capture so many videos and photos of Seventeen, but we only got one photo of ourselves that night (And my face was a bit unflattering to my taste, but I don't really care for such matters). Truthfully, it was a bit humbling on our part since we were surrounded by high-end iPhones, and we only had our good old Android phones and our cutie potato iPhone 6s with us. šŸ¤£ Despite that, we captured plenty of memories to look back on, and I'd like to think that it was the best decision we made that night to just live at that moment.

The one with the glasses is my older cousin. It's literally all what we had (or should I say what she had since she was able to pose) since we were busy vibing to the performance. Hahaha

I was really proud that we got to see the cart at last year's concert because I heard they didn't have it this year. It was really exciting to see them up close. Although I'm not one who likes to shout and scream my lungs out (since my voice is not really that loud), I'm afraid I was very out of character during that night. I mean, it's Seventeen, you know.

I fear that I will not be able to fill you in with the most minor details about the concert since it has been a year (though truth be told, it feels like it was a lifetime), but I can still feel it in my veins. Hahaha, oh, how I missed it. Before I entirely forgot, I also recorded my name and my fellow Carat friends' names as a testament that our names made it to the Follow Tour Bulacan concert, hahaha.

And the most anticipated song of all time, "Aju Nice" was played by the end of the concert, and I think it was as fun as the God of Music since we, the fans, and the boys looked like they had the best times of their lives.

We spent an entire day at this concert, we had so much fun, and we took a lot of videos and pictures of Seventeen, but we only had one of ours taken during the night. It's the kind of moment that you will need to see every detail of what's happening in front of you and kind of get lost in it. I hope that I will get to experience it again next time, though I don't know when that will be since most of them might start enlisting in their country's military. But anyhow, that was a core memory. (Just don't ask me what transpires on our way home because walking outside the arena and the traffic that night was insane, though it's nothing new.)

Definitely a tale I will always tell, and I'm also very, very proud of it (My fb story during this time almost looked like a PowerPoint presentation, hahaha).āœØ

Wow what a wonderful experience šŸ˜ how I wish to attend my idols' concert one day. I also like Minghao by the way tehe.
