The Letter E

This week we are searching for the letter E for @barbara-orenya's Feel Good Alphabet Challenge! You can post directly into the community or from Esteem use 'hive-190931' as your first tag.

You can read more about it HERE

The first E word than I thought of was Egg; the beautiful blue of Robins eggs or the lovely colors of chicken eggs. Although this display of eggs happened to be in a museum, there are lots of eggs around this time of year!

Eggs

This artful train and depot was painted on the flood wall beside the Ohio River in Paducah, Kentucky by artist Robert Dafford. It is one of 50 murals, all of which tell the story of the towns history.

Engine

This art gallery was setting up to show some wonderful Japanese art. I wish I could remember who this artist is.

Exhibit

Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area is home to a large herd of Bison and also a herd of elk.

Elk

And here is one of my Eiffel Towers along with its distinctive shadow. Wishing I was there taking pictures of the real thing!

Christmas time can be filled with many joyful moments, especially for children!

Great selection good finds and your granddaughter is so pretty and cute 😊

That's so lovely... I feel it =)

By the way.. everyone perceives me as forky... instead of forykw... do you reckon like that too? Should I consider forkyyy?

LOL

Ha! Glad it makes you feel good! Too funny, I always think of you as forky, but thought it was just me! ❤️

Somehow @forky already exists... but its not me.

It's just odd how our brains switch those letters around into familiar words. Forkyw?

LOL Created! @forkyw!

I need to get a fork in my hand @

I love it😍 I'm following! ❤️

Very cool shots. I particularly dig the one with the elk and the little girl holding on to her Christmas gift! 🤗

Awww Thanks! Doing this challenge is rather like going on a scavenger hunt!

Great selection to cover the contest, absolutely love the engine, would jump on a train tomorrow to unknown destination.

For the sheer joy of memories and sending greetings!

Lovely post.

Thanks! It's a fun one to do each week!

I love your set of e-words 😉

The Engine looks very cool, and I really live the light in the child's eyes 😇

Thanks! That's an old one of my granddaughter who is a teenager now, but it's always been one of my favorite photos of her.

Looking at her smile, I guess she is a beauty now ❤🧚‍♀️

I miss her during this lockdown but they came over for an outdoor picnic on Mothers Day and she sends me videos and plays her keyboard and sings songs for me. She is a great kid!

Oooh...the eggs of Robin are blue ?!!? Oh my, I feel like an ignoramus for someone you turned to for curating the bird's post, frankly, you couldn't have chosen better person ! 😂

I didn't know the elk word but now you have your word for w letter as the wapiti 😊

Cool that you have a photo of this Eiffel tower, I even don't have one of the real !
and isn't the elation of children at the opening of gifts the most wonderful thing to observe ...? 🤗 😊
smileycat%20thank%20you.png for this wonderful selection my dear !

That shade of blue is frequently referred to as 'robins egg blue. Aren't they lovely? Your #DNA curation for the #featheredfriends Community is appreciated by all of us! Now if we only had more delegation so the votes were worth more.... 😁

I have so much fun hunting for which photos I want to use for the Alphabethunt.

so today I have learnt that robin's eggs are blue and that some horrible people do color birds...what interesting day ! 😉

That was illegal here for almost 45 years and recently the law was overturned so that dog groomers can use hair dye on dogs! Horrible people indeed.

A great display of eggs Melinda. Love your selections especially the elk and elated.

Thanks! Now it's time to start thinking about F!

'elated' is a new word to me, so I learned smth new from your post!
the Eggs (from museum) and Eiffel tower are super-cool entries! eggs maybe not very original entry, but I loved the shots you provided for it. and something tells me, nobody will think of Elks too :=)
ps.
'ar deco' font on the cover is very original and lovely.

Thanks!I thought the font went well with the Robin nest!😁
My granddaughters face is the definition of elated in that shot. I love sharing new words.
I don't have any great shots of the real Eiffel tower, but I love Paris!

I was wondering if anyone will come up with the Eiffel tower and here you are with a lovely shadow 😀.
Such a good word is elated, especially on that photo when a child opens the present.

I do love Paris! Wish I had some great shots of the real thing. The first time I was there was at night with a poor camera, and the second time it was raining.
My granddaughter was definitely elated with that doll!

I have been once to Paris, but I have never seen the Eiffel Tower ... and also none of the other tourist attractions, but only my small room in my little old hotel with the bathroom one floor down, but that's a story for another day ;) lol

Yes, the Eiffel Tower was a good idea and the Elks too. Elated is a new word for me and I hope I can remember it later if I need it, but I don''t think so ;) Anyway, even before I googled the word I knew what it means, because of the sweet look of the girl 😊

Cool post for the letter "E", @melinda010100 😊

Cheers and !BEER

I'm glad you liked my E's! The first time I went to the Eiffel Tower was at night and I got my 'pocket picked'. Afterwards I knew exactly when it happened. I purposefully had nothing in it except $8 and a credit card that was easily canceled, but I really liked that wallet! Months later I got a letter from the Paris police department telling me they had found the empty wallet, but the cost to ship it made it not worth it. At least it made a good travel story!
The elation on my granddaughters face when she saw that doll made it a good photo for E!

Yeah, I like your post - I think we get more creative each week in searching for good words and photos :)

I think everybody has one or the other good travel story, but I have never been pocket picked. It was good that you had almost nothing in the wallet - Paris is well known for pocket pickers.

Good morning and have a great Sunday Melinda 🙂

Cheers and !BEER

In the name of my country my friend, receive the french apologizes for the pickpocketing of your wallet 😉

Hahaha! Long ago and aside from the location it most likely had little to do with France! The sidewalks were crowded and there was a 🚧 construction area where repairs were being made. A woman walked right into me and then in a language that was not French grabbed my hands and began apologizing. People were crowding me from behind and I didn't notice until I got on the metro that the zipper on my purse had been opened. My 2nd credit card was with my cash in a pouch hanging around my neck inside my blouse, so it was easy to recover from and became a good travel story. No apologies are necessary and I have SO many fabulous experiences of France and the people there that there would be absolutely nothing that could cause me to think poorly of France! I should write up some of the stories of the good times and the people I met.

yes absolutely ! I love your stories and the way you tell them !
and mostly, you lived such a rich and zestful life (I didn't want to use the past tense here, but how to grammatically do differently ? 😆) so you have tons of interesting experiences to share with us ! and I could really imagine your grandkids collecting and doing a book with all these wonderful stories !! 😍

🎁 Hi @melinda010100! You have received 0.1 HIVE tip from @johannpiber!

@johannpiber wrote lately about: A Mix Of Blue (Photo 52 Week #20 Blue) Feel free to follow @johannpiber if you like it :)

Sending tips with @tipU - how to guide.

I'm sitting here wondering why it didn't occur to me to use egg in my post.. haha. Very nice entry. I love the expression to your elated gift. Thanks for sharing :)

What a great selection love them all especially of course your granddaughter Elated she is the best and so cute well done 😊

Thanks so much! She is now a delightful young woman but I still love that photo of her! Are you doing this challenge? It is a lot of fun.

And i am sure she is a delightful young women they make you feel so blessed when they turn out that way 😊

From the title and photo I thought it was going to be all about eggs, but then you found some more fun examples of E words.

Kind of loving the peak at the yellow chair with painted dragonflys. 🙂

That chair was a gift to me from my grandson that year! Funny story... he found it along the curb in the trash and walked home carrying it. His mom helped him with the necessary repairs and he painted it yellow and added the dragonflies because it's my favorite color and I love dragonflies! It looked wonderful out on my deck! It had a sad ending when a big guy sat in it and it broke beyond repair. bn8h2p.jpg

What a sweet thing for your grandson to do ! He certainly chose a wonderful color. I'm sure it was much fun to use and look at while it lasted.

Great post, I love the eggs! :-)

Thanks! I loved your egg, too! 🥚😁

She was exalted with happiness.

That was obvious exaltation! ❤️

Ohh Definitely I love the Eiffel tower, I really want to go there

Paris is quite wonderful... But so is the French countryside! I hope you do get to visit there!

Wonderful photos and memories Melinda, you are so gifted! I especially love the murals in Paducah, Kentucky. Love that state.

I love KY, too. We used to travel that way frequently... I miss those road trips! Those murals in Paducah were impressive. I was really glad we had stopped to see them.

That's what's so cool about traveling around the country when you see things like that in little Paducah, KY that you would never think would be there!

hello pretty I really like the one with the eggs the most
but I like Japanese art a lot as a simple bundle is so well folded
happy tuesday pretty

I would have loved to own one of those Japanese paintings, but they were far out of my budget. Simple, yet elegant.

Hope you had a great Tuesday!

What a lovely post @melinda010100! I especially love the vintage look of the eggs display in the museum!
The letter E was not as Easy as I thought, truly Elusive;)
Alphabet Hunt really takes me back to when my children were little and used to love the 'I Spy with my little Eye' game;)

Thanks! We all loved to play that game too! And I must continue to love it because this is my Favorite challenge right now!

Todas las fotos están lindas amiga @melinda010100, pero la foto de la niña con el regalo es espectacular. La expresión de los niños abriendo sus regalos de navidad es lo más emocionante que hay. Saludos amiga.

Gracias! I'm glad you liked these! ❤️

You and I have almost the same locomotives :)
But I definitely don’t have any photos of elks. True, there is one short video about a moose cow, whom I met in the forest.
Great photo selection @melinda010100 !
