A normal day is a day worth celebrating

in Feel Good3 years ago

Hi my dear friends,

Today...look no further if you need or want something to admire, to celebrate. Touch the earth, feel the cool or cold or warm air around you. Look up to the blue sky and white clouds. Celebrate the bright sun and moon, the rain, the snow. Watch the birds, the bees, the fish. Walk along that river, along the beach. Smell that flower. Stop and admire the vibrant wild flowers. Catch those falling leaves from a tree in your backyard. Take that dead branch from the tree and spray paint it or hang some fake flowers and colorful decorations on it. Smile at a stranger. Look into the eyes of your beloved ones. Give them a hug. Celebrate being alive. Celebrate our breaths, our teeth :D (yes, hopefully they’re real & healthy ones), our heart, our body and mind. And enjoy another normal day of life!

I had a normal weekend day that I love to share the admiration of life happening around me and for me. Let's go!

This is me cruising along a normal street in Vung Tau city on a sunny cool day near the end of lunar year.

Every daily activity can be found and seen on this street. It's amazing how alive one street can be and I appreciate the simplicity of life in Vietnam, which I always miss when being away.

I stopped randomly to admire these flower trees and the blue sky. Everything is so simple, yet beautiful:

This may be such a normal thing to each and every Vietnamese that many probably wouldn't understand why I have to write about random street activities and they found it strange I keep stopping to take pictures at each store along the way. But I'm amazed at everything here. They are things I don’t take for granted.
I am taking you to a part of Binh Giã street. Here we can find:

  • Blacksmith, carpenter, metal worker, interior design company, A/C suppliers, decorative light vendors
  • Fruits, food, chicken and ducks, fish on sale
  • Restaurants, coffee shops, small coffee stand
  • Lottery ticket vendors
  • Nurseries with tons of plants and flowers for lunar new year celebration
  • Gas station
  • Vendors of all kinds of goods from piggy bank, luggage, clothing, bedding
  • Pharmacies
  • Tailor stores
  • Glasses stores
  • Fruit trucks
And many more items for sale on this street.

Life has gradually gotten back to normal after 6 months of complete lockdown. I appreciate the opportunity to be out today, to ride around town, see this peaceful city gaining its life back. I found closed stores and shops, but I also saw recovering restaurants, clothing stores, bakeries, coffee shops and some new businesses as well. I feel hopeful for the city to recover, to greet more tourists in the coming holidays and especially to celebrate the new year.

I miss walking the streets of Hanoi. This is the best way to immerse oneself in the Vietnamese culture. I cant forget the egg coffee and eating out on low tables and chairs on the side of the streets! I really had a pleasant experience there!

Awe, I haven't even had a chance to try egg coffee, and yes, the street here in VN is great way to enjoy the culture, the pleasantness and welcome of local people, the normal sounds and smell, all little things that make a special experience 😃
