Warm Outfits
Living in the Northern hemisphere a warm outfit for the winter season is a must. The temperature often drops below freezing and, most of January there is snow on the ground, to be removed from the driveway.
A lot of body heat is lost through the head and neck and these areas need to be covered when going outside in a cold climate.
I crocheted a lot of winter hats and scarves one year.
Crocheting scarves to keep the neck warm.
I have a different hat to wear everyday in the winter weather and gave many hats/ toques away.
A man walking his dog, after a snow storm, is dressed in a warm outfit with heavy jacket, boots and head covered. The dog has a nice thick coat of fur.

My mother used to knit wool hats, gloves and socks for us kids to wear in winter and I am pretty sure that just like your hats and scarfs they were much warmer than what we are wearing nowadays. At least they were cozier for sure 😊

I seem to be only good at making the hats. They are warm and cozy. I tried a mitten but it turned out looking more like a toaster cover. 😆
Sunday has been another snow shovelling day. There has been a lot of snow this January. Hopefully February will be kinder.🌞

When I was in primary school I have learned to knit but I have forgotten everything since.
Our snow is slowly melting away - today we have had +12C. Maybe your cold and snowy weather will move to us in February, that would be cool if it would snow a lot once more 🌨️

Wish I could transport magically some of the snow here. Right now there is so much, one could cut the snow in blocks and make an igloo. 😆
Knitting is a good thing to learn but hard for a kid to sit still long enough. 😆 It wasn’t something taught here in school. My mother tried unsuccessfully to teach me to knit but I learned to crochet later in life from a friend.

As kids we have built igloos with the snow - that was much work but fun.
We learned to crochet too, but I liked knitting more. My wife knitts thick socks from time to time which are great to wear at home.

I have never experienced winter and don't have much warm outfits except maybe a couple of sweat shirts and a raincoat. It really never gets cold over here. Rainy, yes, and wet, but never cold.
But I'm sure I can find some trophies for this hunt. We'll see.
