THEME: SNOWY BUILDINGS
The theme is perfect for me right now as there has been two major snow storms and I am up to my eyeballs in snow.
Looking out my backdoor yesterday morning.
The back deck had at least a good foot of snow on it. It’s where I feed the birds and other wildlife.
My first duty was to shovel an area where they could land and have some food.
Hubby was clearing the front driveway with the snowblower while I cleared the back deck.

Not only the birds but other wildlife , such as, a skunk, squirrel and a raccoon often visit.
This is what the deck should look like with the snow removed.
This is a fox in winter from a few years ago. He is a bit apprehensive about coming onto the deck and this is evident by the way he held his ears back.
From my archives I found this photo of the sun going down around the corner of my snowy house.
The snow does make the landscape look magical.
January is the month when we seem to have lots of snow. It doesn’t take long to remove it from driveways and the highways although this has been an unusual amount of snow.
If you are a skier, snowmobiler, skater or love other outdoor snow activities then this snow is a welcome sight. Where are my snowshoes? A perfect time for snowshoeing.
Oh yes, that's a lot of snow and it's a lot of work, but it looks so beautiful, Jo, all white in white, I love it 😍 but you know I don't have to shovel a lot 😉
You are very right, sunsets (and sunrises) let a snowy landscape look magical 🤩
I would have bet that you would think of the wildlife and the birds first 😀

I’m an old hand at the snow removal business by shovel. It’s a good workout. A bit more snow than I needed this time. 😝

Red buildings with white snow toppings looks delightful, that is a lot of snow even down to the forest floor!
Little fox must have really wanted a little of what you had on offer what a wonderful visitor to enjoy.

I’m glad you enjoy the winter photos. I did so enjoy the visits from the fox. They are a beautiful animal.
Any wildlife approaching a home is only ever for food, little fox may be coming back at night being such a shy little animal.
I always enjoy seeing snowy surroundings up North when we sweltering down here.
We're kind of in the same boat when it comes to pics of snowy buildings, we don't have to go too far.
What an amazing picture of the Red-Tailed Fox.
They're usually so elusive and capturing just a glimpse of one is a thrill, never and having one show up at your back door. It looks to be very young and hunger may be what made it not care about privacy.
Yes it looks like we had the same amount of snow to deal with. Hubby and I were in Charlottetown today and they were still clearing the snow out in truckloads. The loader would scoop up the snow and fill the trucks to dump the snow out of the city.
The fox was probably hungry to be that friendly. I loved seeing him.
So that's what a foot of snow looks like. Completely covered the deck! If I lived there, I will definitely learn how to ski. It sounds exciting and perfect for the occasion. I think shovelling all that snow from the deck all the way to the red building must take a lot of effort though the ice looks soft and loose. But it's very beautiful, especially the first photo. I wouldn't mind waking up to this in the morning with a hot cup of chocolate and some crispy hot hash browns.

Thanks gems.and.cookies. I have used skis but not really good at it. Cross country skiing wasn’t bad but…downhill skiing. I could only come down the bunny hill and not a dignified sight to slide down the bottom of the hill sitting on the skis.😆
I do love seeing the wildlife, such as, the fox. Most of the time they are afraid of humans and would never come that close.
