So I had my monthly checkup yesterday in ENT. And good news, I didn't pay a penny for the checkup because of my PhilHealth. It was last September when I visited the PhilHealth office in Pinamalayan with Mama, and I had it updated in the office last so that I don't have to pay monthly for it. As some of you know, I don't really have a regular income to make a contribution for it monthly.
We got lucky because Mom's friend shared this information to us about that Universal PhilHealth, where the national government will make the contribution and cost of care for those people who're financially incapable, just like me. And this will be determined (in our case) by the DSWD. We visited City Hall to get that piece of paper, a proof that we are financially incapable.
After that, we went back to Pinamalayan last October to submit that said paper or the proof. Thanks to that, I saved 500 pesos, or $8.49, which is the cost of a checkup in the ENT clinic in yesterday's checkup. That's a big deal, especially since I need to get a checkup every month. My nose needs to get checked because the polyp that grows in there is the recurring one. Aigoo, thinking about it is making me (。ŏ﹏ŏ).
But nevermind that, I was so happy yesterday because of how much I saved yesterday. I was in a good mood the whole time while relaxing and waiting for my set appointment in the park. Knowing that I don't have to spend a penny for the checkup, I was like on cloud nine, lol. Even the simple and smallest thing I saw on our way made me appreciate it a lot. The beauty of the flowers contributed a lot too to my good mood.
We don't know good places in Pinamalayan where we can enjoy this much, so we headed again in the park. But, this time, we went to the spot where we hadn't visited before. We're always staying on the other side, and I can't force Mama to accompany me on the left side of Park because she's always busy watching on her phone, but this time, I was able to. Thanks to me forcing Mama, we discovered where the wifi is located. And because we're closer to it, we enjoyed the wifi to the fullest.
And aside from that, we get to enjoy a different scenery this time. I saw these healthy and green plants too, with their vibrant and beautiful color. Accompanied by the fresh air, it's more refreshing and enjoyable, to be honest.
There are a lot of students, from high school to college, that hang out here. Look at some of them enjoying the green grass while having a wonderful time with their classmates. I suddenly remember my school days where I often hung out with my friends, sitting in a grass during free time, just chitchatting or gossiping, sharing about crushes, and then laughing together. Those are the sweet days of mine. I miss this part, but not the studying part, lolol.
While staying here, I also witnessed such a wholesome and beautiful scene where kids are just being kids. No mobile phones or gadgets, but just a small ball throwing to a friend in friendly manners. It's a "Patamaang Bata" in our language, or a dodgeball. We usually used a volleyball ball in playing this during high school, but these kids are using a baseball ball. It's tiny, but it's just three of them, so its just the right size. I can't help but smile while watching them. They are surely enjoying themselves during that precious moment. This is my kind of game - a game that a kid should know and play. Their bodies will surely sweat by playing this as a good way to move the body or exercise. I'm so happy in my spot here, as I get to watch them playing happily.
Let me also highlight another cute moment, it's the cat. They were actually lying in front of us, on the ground, when suddenly, one cat meowed loudly as if she saw something in the front. I'm still wondering at that time what it is, but it's actually just a man having his lunch. One of the cats came running to the young man, and the rest followed. It's not good to watch someone who's eating, so I turn my back on him. But I can still hear the cat meowing. Not sure if they got a treat though (≧▽≦), maybe not.
But seriously, the whole park is just like a big garden where everyone can hang out and enjoy that very moment. It's a nice experience, for sure ┏(^0^)┛. You can see or witness different kinds of moments from different people, and observing them is kinda fun. ( ꈍᴗꈍ)

Saving that ₱500 is indeed a big deal, especially when health checkups are a regular necessity.

Buti na cover Ng philhealth kahit Hindi na admit. Minsan Kasi SA Amin, parang required pa na ma admit Ka bago nagamit ang philhealth.
Oo, okie sya sa hospital na to. Not sure sa iba. Pero baka kaya pwede coz it's the universal kinda sya. Pero not sure din talaga.
It’s so heartwarming to read about your day! I’m glad you got your checkup covered and even discovered new things at the park. Sometimes, it’s the little moments—like watching kids play or finding good WiFi—that make everything brighter. 😊
Yep, yep, those simple things but enough to make me feel something amazing. ✨✨
It's fortunate that you're a Philhealth member. Investing on health insurance is a wise decision. By the way, going to the park is surely therapeutic. It makes you appreciate ordinary moments in life.
