Phone Photography Contest #44: The Urban Side of My City

in Feel Good12 days ago

Phonography Contest.

We couldn't take Max with us today because we planned to go directly to the supermarket for some grocery shopping. In addition, it rained heavily last night, so puddles are expected here and there.

It's Wednesday again, so it's time for my Wednesday Walk and time to take some photos using my phone for @untilwelearn's

The sky was still gloomy when we headed out. It was around 6:10 AM then. We initially wanted to head out at six, but it was drizzling, so we waited it out.

Yup... puddles! haha

Anyway, we live in a city that's considered urban due to the density of people living here. However, our house is on the outskirts (near the coastal side), so I don't really feel the typical hustle and bustle.

So, for this entry, I'm going to show some of the establishments we passed by going to our destination... it's going to be busier as we move forward.

This is the first busy intersection from our place. It's half a kilometer away from our house. It's a school and work day, so it's going to be much busier during rush hour (around 7-8 AM).

This is the nearest department store to our place. It's around 700 meters away from home. My father sometimes shops here, but I haven't really gone inside this establishment.

Then around 200 meters away from Unico, there's this building. There are some shops here like a convenience store, appliance and tech stores, restaurants, and some clinics and spas.

This huge road connects my city to Cebu City. We call it SRP (South Road Properties). It's around 20 minutes away from our place on foot. I like walking in SRP especially going to the city hall. Maybe next Wednesday, we'll take this route. :)

From a distance, you can see Cebu South Medical Center. It used to be a small district hospital, but they upgraded it a few years back... which is actually a great move by the government.

There were some private schools by the road... one of the biggest public schools in my area is near our house. We usually pass by it when we take the beach route. :)

My father and I decided to drop by the church as well. It's one of the churches in this area. It's a smaller one, but still so beautiful. It's situated several meters away from the road, so the location is pretty good. It's not very noisy.

There's another square with some coffee shops, pet shops, laundry shots, karaoke shops, and so on. Just in front of it, there's this pizza place, and fruit store and the space above is a halo-halo shop. Their halo-halo is so good! It's a must-try! ^^

We decided to take a detour. We could just go straight, but we turned left to this small street beside the halo-halo place. I wanted to take photos of the flyover bridge... :)

Before getting on the main road again, there's another square with a variety of shops (mostly local banks). This one is called Talisay Town Center.

Here's another church in our city. It's one of the big ones, but it's directly beside a main road, so it's really noisy. Traffic congestion in this area every Sunday is also crazy... and I don't like that! XD

Then... just a few meters away from this church is the flyover. This area must be the busiest part of our city. The public market is also around this place. Here are some shots I took.

The flyover bridge is under renovation. As you can see, there are more cars and people around this place. Going across this part will lead you to the mountainous area of my city. Our city has a mountainside, coastal side, and the city center.

On the other end of the flyover, there's another small shopping mall... and you can also see our furbabies' clinic! ^^

It was already past seven in the morning, so the rush hour had started. The traffic congestion was real! hahah This is another reason why I'm so grateful to get a job that allows me to work from home. I hate commuting, especially during the rush hour!

There was still about an hour before the supermarket opened, so my father and I went to Jollibee to get some sandwiches to go. I also bought one for mom so she could have it for brekky. :)

The Jollibee is in one of the big malls in our city, but we're going grocery shopping at the other mall... We walked around the parking area for fun and to kill time. lol

Here's a quick photoshoot with my father and this car which is a raffle grand prize. haha

MAH BOYZZZ!!! hahah

They're called SB19 and they're my favorite P-pop (Philippine pop) group. They're amazing and I love their songs so much... even their solo ones are awesome!

There's a small hotel across the street... and the busy road continues. xD The white bus is so jam-packed! I remember my university days and the times when I had to work outside. It was horrible! XD I'm glad I don't have to get on such a jam-packed bus or jeepney every day. haha

We finally arrived at our destination! We still had half an hour before it opened, so we just chilled and munched on our sandwiches while waiting for it to open.

We stayed on a bench outside the mall... and I found these cute little sheep. haha It's so random, but they're cute.

I decided to study Japanese on my app and also took photos of this huge house on top of the mountain... as for my father... he's reading the daily paper! lol

We went inside the supermarket when it opened a little past eight. It's nice to shop around this time because there are barely any people. :)

We headed home after grocery shopping. We rode a tricycle home because it was already hot and we bought rice, so our bags were quite heavy.

That ends our Wednesday walk and my mobile photography journey for today.

Did you enjoy the tour? This is another part of our city... the part that I like the least. hahah

Thanks for reading and checking this post out! See you around! (^^,)/

After reading this post and seeing so many pictures, I think that if someone comes to your city, he will not have any problem in roaming around because he will know where the tasty food, best hospital, school etc. are. 😄 It's better than Google! Nice wednesday walk. :)

Hahaha... I hope so! There are several routes to get around my city, but doing so in the morning is the best. It gets busier and hotter during the day. XD

what a great tour of your area so well put together i felt i was there exploring it with you

Thanks for joining the Wednesday walk
Have a great day

Thank you so much... :) I'm glad you enjoyed the tour... ^^

Greetings. There are many beautiful photos from your walk, ranging from that of the school, renovation of bridges, and also that of church, but that photo of you and your Dad at Jollibee taking sandwich is exceptional, I hope you enjoy your meal.
