Phone Photography Contest #47: The Short Detour

in Feel Good9 days ago

Last Sunday, I went to the supermarket on foot with my father. Despite taking the shortest route, we decided to take a little detour, leaving the main road and going through a residential area just behind a big shopping mall.

For this week's Phone Photography Contest
by @untilwelearn, I decided to share some of the photos I took when we took that short detour.

It was around half past seven when we arrived in this area, so I could see the sun peeking through this tower. I prefer passing through this area because there are fewer vehicles. :)

I also took a couple of photos of this cute orange kitty. She's chilling inside a makeshift store. This place opens around lunchtime. It's a food stall we call "carinderia" in the Philippines.

As I've mentioned, this route is situated behind a shopping mall, so some of the clerks and workers eat around this area.

It's the infamous hump behind the shopping mall. A lot of cars or tricycles get stuck here, especially when raining. This area is prone to flooding.

I remember that one time the tricycle my aunt and I rode got stuck in the hump. The driver got off to push the tricycle, and my aunt tried to help, but she ended up gripping and turning the throttle, which almost made the tricycle flip. hahahah

The driver was so scared and told her not to touch anything. We eventually got through this hump and arrived home safely despite the heavy rain. XD

Here's the back view of the shopping mall. It's still so empty since it won't open until 9 AM. :) That's the end of the short detour story photo story!!!

BONUS PHOTOS!

This isn't the same mall, but this supermarket is just around 300 meters away from the previous mall I showed earlier. This is where we usually go grocery shopping because there are fewer people, so it's more comfortable. :)

I took a photo of these lost sheep again. haha They look adorable, but I still wonder why they're placed there.

This is in front of our house. There used to be a house here, but when the owner died, his children destroyed the house and fenced the property. Now, it has become like this. There's a huge possibility for snakes to thrive in this place. Actually, one was sighted not long ago, but I wonder if they're able to track it down and catch it. It's like a mini swamp when it rains...

I wonder when they're (the children who had this area fenced) going to take care of their property. XD Oh well~!

That's it for this post. :) Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed going through the photos. See you around! (^^,)/

That's a nice detour of urban side of your city. Sometimes It feels good to roam around like this. Well apart from the tension of the snakes now you will have a beautiful green front view in front of your house. 😊
