The difficulty I'll have is with respect to the lines you mentioned: good/evil, right/wrong, or legal and illegal. The only differences I see in these areas are perception and cost.
The Hero's journey is virtually identical to that of the villain. The main difference is that for a Hero, they wish to prevent someone from going through the same thing. The villain will enact revenge for what was done to them. For both the hero and the villain, obstacles are just a thing in the way.
