Hi guys, did you happen to catch last night's Friday Night Smackdown?
When I saw last night’s Friday Smackdown, it made me get all excited because of the intense Roman Reigns versus Cody Rhodes confrontation in it; and like watching two bulls meet head on in a ring, there was no way one could take his eyes off it.
The first thing was that Roman Reigns strolled arrogantly into the ring as though he owned it bragging about being a man of his words, calling Cody out to come face him alone.
Roman talked cocky by questioning Cody’s decisions and loyalty at times making himself clear that he is the man around here.
However, Cody did not show any sign of backing down whenever Roman attacked verbally.
As if the classic underdog story had just unfolded before my eyes, Cody hinted at Roman how they share history, even saying he was part of the team which vanquished The Shield sometimes back.
But what really made me hot under the collar was Cody demanding that Roman trust his teammate Seth Rollins.
He changed the tables on Roman making him feel uncomfortable in his own skin. It was not mind games alone for Cody but brutal truth.
Cody tried to make peace by reaching out his hand, but Roman declined it. Instead, he called in his Bloodline buddies, trying to intimidate Cody. But guess what? Cody stood his ground without a twitch of an eye. This one man faced a pack of wolves.
Every now and then, however, there’s a scene that belongs to a movie with twists and turns at every corner. That got me thinking about loyalty and trust and what it truly means to be a champion. While Roman may have the belt around his waist, there is something more powerful inside Cody; heart and unwavering resolve.
In this verbal and mental warfare, I could not stop cheering for Cody.
Not as much as Roman, but he has got a lot of guts within him. It was exciting when Cody said that he had the ability to defeat Roman at WrestleMania.
Certainly, Roman may be the heavy weight in this fight; however, Cody is just the dark horse who is coming from behind with everything to prove.
They are called underdogs because they usually surprise us.
As the show went off air, I remained in suspense on what will follow next.
Can Cody rise to the occasion and defeat Roman Reigns?
Will Roman put up another display of why he is still ‘The Tribal Chief’?
Either way, I’ll be watching eagerly for how this epic showdown will come out. In wrestling anything goes, and I don’t want to miss one moment of it.
