Back at It, Wrestling Hive Let’s Catch Up on the Madness
Yo Hive fam, what’s good? It’s @wrestlenews back in the building. Sorry it took a minute to drop a new post. Life came at me hard the last couple weeks and had some family stuff I needed to put first. Appreciate y’all for being patient and still showing love while I’ve been offline.
Now let’s get into this week’s chaos. AEW’s getting roasted again, Drew McIntyre aired out some locker room drama, Charlotte and Tiffany are not playing nice, and John Cena’s out here doing superhero moves in real life and TV. Buckle up.
AEW Dynasty Ends with HUGE Fan Backlash
So AEW just ran Dynasty and once again... the main event finish got people HEATED. It was Swerve vs Moxley for the world title. Swerve had it won after a stomp, crowd's going nuts and then boom. Lights out. Young Bucks (I'm so sick of these guys to be for real wit you) show up, hit Swerve with the double V-trigger, Moxley pins him. Game over... BRO!
Crowd turned on the show fast, fast... Boos exploded everywhere, and X (FKA Twitter) blew up! A lotta fans blaming AEW’s slump, low ratings, soft ticket sales, all of it on Moxley still being champ. They’re saying this ain't 2020 anymore. And honestly? Kinda hard to argue that point. He is the face of the company and all.
Tony Khan Tries to Justify It
Tony did the post-show scrum and yeah, he heard the boos. But he stood on it. Said it was a great world title match with a “shocking” ending and that the Bucks’ return added intrigue.
He tried spinning it as long-term storytelling — that Swerve’s gonna get a second shot, that the Bucks coming back dirty fits their characters. And maybe it does… but fans clearly wanted a moment. And AEW swerved the Swerve moment to keep the belt on Mox.
At some point, you gotta give the people what they want. Or they stop showing up.
Adam Copeland (Edge) Written Off of AEW TV
Idk if you saw or not but Copeland took a NASTY beatdown after Dynasty. FTR did a spiked piledrived to him on a chair and then dropped concertos for good measure. Dave Meltzer says don’t expect to see him until July.
So yeah, he’s getting written out for a while. No clue what’s next for FTR either, but when Cope comes back, they better have a real program lined up. This is not just another 50/50 feud imo.
Drew McIntyre Spills About Blowing Up Backstage
Drew talked to Wafflin and for real just straight up admitted he lost his cool backstage after CM Punk returned at Survivor Series. He said yeah, he left the building cause he was that HEATED. Not even at Punk directly but just mad at how things were playing out.
Same deal at the Rumble, bro. He for real said it happens once every couple years where he just explodes lol. For real, that’s pretty candid for a WWE guy. This just adds some context to all the various reports just floating around when it happened too. Seems like he’s owning it now.
Charlotte Flair vs Tiffany Stratton: Real Beef?
So apparently that tension we saw between Tiffany and Charlotte on SmackDown wasn’t just storyline. Word is they’ve had heat for weeks now.
Sources have said that it started backstage and spilled over on live TV. Personal shots were taken, fans noticed, and now it's all anyone’s talking about.Lots of sources are talking about this and some think Charlotte's trying to sandbag Tiffany before she takes her spot. Other sources have said they think WWE's working everyone to sell a match, but who knows.
Either way, things are getting petty — and messy.
Swerve Fires Shots at Booker T
At Dynasty after losing to Moxley, Swerve grabbed the mic and said “F*** Booker T.” Not subtle. Not sugarcoated. Just went right at him for some reason.
Backstory is Booker refused to go on a show Swerve was on didn't wanna get “exploited” or have negative stuff said about Black wrestlers. Swerve didn’t appreciate that, clearly.
AEW honestly just let the F-bomb fly on the mic. Not bleeped. Just raw. Wild times.
Good News for SmackDown’s Ring Announcer
Mark Nash — SmackDown’s new ring guy — is apparently getting solid praise behind the scenes. According to Chris Featherstone, people in WWE are vibing with his energy, especially heading into WrestleMania.
Small story but hey, give the guy his flowers.
WWE’s Original Lucha Bros Plan
There was a lot of talk that Penta and Fenix were supposed to debut as a tag team in WWE before AEW got in the way. But Sean Ross Sapp says nope, that wasn’t really the case.
WWE always planned to keep them on separate brands and build them as singles before maybe linking up later. So yeah, that fan theory's cooked.
Adam Cole Finally Wins Gold in AEW
Adam Cole beat Daniel Garcia at Dynasty and won the TNT Title his first belt in AEW since jumping over in 2021.
Took long enough, but it’s good to see him get something that matters again.
Bayley Superfan Izzy Might Get Her Shot
Izzy Marrano yes, that Izzy, the one who was Bayley’s superfan back in the NXT days wants in on WWE’s new “ID” title tournament.
She tweeted she’s ready. WWE responded like, cool story, prove it. She’s booked for a match with Zara Zaka at GCW Vegas. Not part of the tournament yet, but hey... anything can happen.
John Cena’s Peacemaker Is Back
And finally Cena dropped the trailer for Peacemaker Season 2 and it’s dropping August 21st. Said he can’t wait to “dance again” with everyone.
Say what you want about Cena’s booking in WWE, but the dude’s Hollywood career is thriving.
Final Thoughts
Tbh this week felt like the calm before the storm. AEW’s clearly trying to push through fan backlash, WWE’s got real-life drama bleeding into storylines, and Mania is creeping closer.

I grew up watching real wrestling on Sunday afternoons. Andrea the Giant was so much fun to watch, and then, of course, all the kids in the neighborhood "played" wrestling afterward.

I like John Cena; he has both humor and acting skills. How much is he esteemed in the wrestling world? I haven't watched his wrestling matches, but I always watch his movies. Hahaha. He is quite good— a subtle actor.

A lot of these names are new to me. I used to love watching WWE as a kid but it's been around 15 years since I last did this, lol! So many things have changed ever since!

I'd be surprised if the thing between Charlotte and Tiffany is a big deal in real life, but either way, it's refreshing that everything isn't a complete work. Personally I'd love to see shoot matches integrated into wrestling. With strict rules in place to avoid injuries of course...

They're fairly common in storylines, but seem nonexistent in matches...
