Premantura is a village situated just across the bay from my hometown. You have approximately eleven kilometers if you take the asphalt road, or just about three kilometers if you have a boat or decide to swim. Like all villages in this area, it has a historic center with a pretty big church ...
... but you won't see that stuff here.
Today, around noon, I spent a couple of hours sniffing around the outskirts of Premantura. In the area in between some relatively new apartment buildings and a small auxiliary harbor.

On arrival, I parked the car near this fountain.
The small, artificial waterfall looked nice ...

... and the sunlight was creating these beautiful, shifting patterns in the rounded blue pool. So I stopped to take a few shots. I especially like how the movements of the light and water distorted the tiles on the bottom. You can see what I'm talking about if you enlarge the picture.
It's a nice little fountain. Nothing spectacular. But looks good, refreshing, and definitively enhances the suburban landscape.
After leaving the fountain, I continued towards the apartment buildings built to take advantage of the tourist season.
At first sight, only this sunny artwork stood out from the rest of that neighborhood.

This pine tree grew long ago on the other side of the road.
The pine processionary caterpillars have built pretty large silky nests among the needles, their only food.
I saw about a dozen of these nests but photographed only two.
A bit further someone left a twig of Acacia dealbata. This plant is called Mimosa in this area. It's native to Australia, and it wasn't known here until the end of the 18th century when was brought by the sailors. These trees are now very common and through time they became one of the iconic springtime flowering plants.

These lovely birds are mounted on the trunks of the palms in front of the gate of the last house in that street.
I said hello to the colorful guardians ...
... and continued down the gravel road ...
... that leads to the sea.
But we are not there yet. Because I was walking slowly to enjoy the first scents of springtime in the air. Although the days are still pretty cold, the scents are there.
Here I took a look behind the wall of thorny shrubs and small trees and photographed another set of apartment buildings.
Here I definitively reached the small harbor ...
... the final destination of this Sunday walk.
The tide was low.
The green algae looked very vivid, almost fluorescent in the sun.
I stayed there for half an hour or so.

It looks pretty good from this side of the bay. After this shot was taken I walked back, sat in my car, and drove away.

While driving towards home, I noticed a shepherd and some sheep by the road ...

... so I stopped to take a couple of photographs. The billboard with the kid driving a go-cart on it was a nice addition to the scene.

Ah the beauties of "wintespring," as I think of this time of year ... still cold, but looking toward warmer days, and so lovely ... I especially love the fountain shots because I love watching light patterns in water...
Yes, the light on the water is able to create a bit of magic.
I love the building for tourists, if I’m a tourist there I will really love it there because everywhere is calm and looks lovely. Wow!

You can run there some day. Have you tried running?
I did, but the water was slowing me down and I wasn't able to climb on top of it and run on the surface. I remember seeing once on Youtube some strange shoes for running on water. Maybe with those.
