Greetings to everyone in the Top Family community! Today I'm joining in here to share with you a new photo and the anecdote behind it on this TBT Thursday. I'll be leaving the link at the bottom of the post for anyone who wants to join in. Let's get started with it.
The photograph is from the year 2020, when the covid 19 pandemic situation was running worldwide, but at least in Venezuela, the quarantine had fallen by the month of November/December (or a little before) and from then on we could all go back to our old routines. Although I would say that we have never been the same since that pandemic event happened, I believe that Venezuelans have been accustomed to seek their own normality for a long time. Things are not quite normal and it is a bit difficult to talk to someone who is not from here about how one copes with things. We are a bit on the sidelines. An example of that is that as soon as Christmas came around, everything was filled with Christmas lights and decorations, even though we had gone through a pandemic.
¡Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Top Family! El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes una nueva fotografía y la anécdota detrás de ella en este Jueves de TBT. Estaré dejando el enlace al final de la publicación para todo aquel que desee unirse. Comencemos con ello.
La fotografía es del año 2020, cuando corría la situación de la pandemia del covid 19 a nivel mundial, pero al menos en Venezuela, la cuarentena había caído para el mes de noviembre/diciembre (o un poco antes) y a partir de allí todos pudimos volver a nuestras viejas rutinas. Aunque yo diría que jamás volvimos a ser los mismos desde que pasó ese suceso de la pandemia, sin embargo creo que el venezolano ha estado acostumbrado a buscar su propia normalidad desde hace mucho tiempo. Las cosas no son del todo normales y es un poco difícil hablar a alguien que no es de aquí, el cómo uno sobrelleva las cosas. Estamos un poco al margen. Un ejemplo de eso es que en cuanto llegó la época de navidad, todo se llenó de luces y adornos navideños, aún y cuando habiamos atravesado una pandemia.
The truth is that this picture was taken by my partner's friend, Ivan, when we were visiting one of those spaces that they decorate for Christmas. My partner doesn't usually like photographs but this time he let me take one with me and that made me very happy. It is one of the few pictures I have of him around that time. I keep this picture with a lot of affection because he is smiling so beautifully. Despite all the things that had happened that year, we were there; celebrating the days before Christmas, alive, healthy and satisfied to be together at that moment. Life is a funny thing. A friend of mine would say about this: even at the highest points of human history, people have not stopped loving, creating, giving life and living. Lo cierto es que está fotografía la tomo el amigo de mi pareja, Iván, cuando visitabamos uno de esos espacios que adornan para las navidades. A mí pareja no le suelen gustar las fotografías pero esta vez se dejó tomar una conmigo y eso me hizo muy feliz. Es una de las pocas fotografías que tengo a su lado de por esas épocas. Guardo esta imagen con mucho cariño porque además, el sale sonriendo muy lindo. A pesar de todas las cosas que habían pasado ese año, nosotros estábamos allí; celebrando los días previos a Navidad, vivos, con salud y satisfechos de poder estar juntos en ese momento. La vida es una cosa bien curiosa. Diría una amiga mía sobre esto: aún en los puntos más álgidos de la historia de la humanidad, la gente no ha dejado de amar, de crear, de dar vida y de vivir.
