It's another gloomy day. One typhoon left, another typhoon is on it's way. Normal rainy season in the Philippines. But it's not normal for some places to experience flood higher than most houses. Dealt with lots of flood, wet floor and cleaning up the past few days. Also, sister just arrived from working overseas for 2 years so she missed Filipino foods.
She's the one wearing glasses and as we were at the mall we decided to get some groceries for our afternoon merienda (snack) we went for something easy to prepare. We decided to get some ingredients for pancit. It's a type of Filipino dish made with noodles, choice of protein, soy sauce and mixed veggies.
Just in time to try the newly purchased induction cooktop that's been sitting on the counter for days. I've been wanting to do some cooking test but I got so busy. It's good for preparing something quick and easy.
Good thing this item did not disappoint. New addition to the kitchen and looking sleek for it's affordable price.
Ugh, cleaning and cooking is so exhausting but it's such a good feeling when you're all done.
Also, nephew's birthday is in two days so definitely there will be more cooking session to happen. I'll be in charge of the main dishes while my sister is making the cake. As for someone who can't bake a cake even if my life depends on it so I'm cool with that.
Here's for today's simple merienda prepared by a Filipina foodie.
Thanks for reading this quick update I hope you have a lovely day.
Side note, I hope you are having the best time on your Philippines vacation. @terganftp
Let me start by saying. Thanks for posting here. Maybe not the best place to get exposure but I enjoy seeing new posts here :)
Nice post and nice pictures but it may not have been quite on topic for the community. A little more telling about why the Induction cookplate was a useful and inexpensive addition to your cooking items.....or about how Pansit is an affordable Filipino staple for birthdays would have been awesome.
In the end though good to see you here @sej and you took @joujou88
Hope you enjoy the pancit and make it through the typhoon unscathed.
