RE: How did this chotis by Agustín Lara get here?

in Q Inspired-by-Music10 months ago

I'm not Spanish and I don't live in Madrid, but my mother has always liked Agustin Lara's songs. And my father also liked them, especially the chotis and pasodobles. I hear the song and images of my parents dancing come to my mind, and I'm already humming the song, hehe.

Madrid, Madrid, Madrid
Cuando llegues a Madrid, chulona mía
Voy a hacerte emperatriz de Lavapiés
Y alfombrarte con claveles la Gran Vía
Y bañarte con vinillo de Jerez

Thank you for sharing it and bringing many sweet memories 😍

Right now we are practising a song from Agustín Lara for a concert with the choir I play with sometimes. We already performed it a few times, but it is the song that is a part of our repertoire. GranadaI am glad this composer brought you now these memories, @coquicoin 😇

Ok, we are not Plácido Domingo haha, but we are trying to give our best :D

I love that song too! And my mom has the CD of Placido Domingo performing many of Agustin Lara's songs so that performance is also a great trip down memory lane 😍
Thanks and good luck with your performance of Granada in the choir. 🤗
