Although tulips are not a personal favorite of mine, they were among the most beautiful thing I had ever seen the FIRST TIME I was ever forced to stay indoors, and at last got out.
I took this picture among others on my first day outdoors since February 2017... that year I suffered a major injury and went from being an active young person in my community to weeks spent either in bed or a wheelchair.
But at last I got out, and the picture above was so striking I kept it for a book project I had started before my injury ... it's on the page for the return of Spring in my first fictional publication: Seasons Siblings Timeshare Tiff, which I would complete during all the time I still had to stay indoors in 2017 and have on sale on Amazon by December of that year.
I still have a spot in my heart for tulips, and it came back to mind because of the weeks and weeks that I have been more or less confined in this spring of 2020 ... major injury prepared me to be able to deal with the present distress a little better, including taking what I can and turning it into beauty for others!
Enjoy this video, featuring "Tulip Fields," which I recorded here on my home piano while on shelter in place this spring!

Tulips are indeed a very nice flower. We have sooooo many of them in my tiny country the Netherlands; fields and fields full of colour, yellow, orange, purple and white mostly. I do love the black version very much; Wallpaper on my laptop for ages already :)
Great to read you are better able to deal with the current Corona lockdown thingy because of some earlier movability restrictions. Guess it's all about accepting the situation and trying to make the most of it. You certainly succeeded with this post: Great piano piece, Wonderful video and flowers. Stressrelief for sure; More than that I :)
Still dealing with shelter-in-place ... when I had a major injury three years ago, the tulips were what I saw on the first day out after that... I always think of the Netherlands when I see tulips, for surely your home country is the reason that we enjoy these everywhere today.
Thanks for watching and listening ... I'm just spreading the stress relief around!
How a small thing like a flower can capture your heart. As you mentioned, not your most favourite version, but at means something special to you. And the cool thing is: It gives you memories and inspiration for new things! Keep the stress relief coming! :)
Did you see and hear the Iris Parade?
Yes I did for sure! Loved it. Like the piano soooo much and your work I can listen to all the time. Even commented and voted when you posted it 🤣
I saw your comment this morning -- thank you for listening there too, and now, enjoy a Sunday Morning Hymn!
ok ok :) I usually dont curate based on link drops, but I gave you a full upvote anyway on that post :) I suggest to always use the tag #music when posting music posts in none music communities. like me, also other curator teams may look for music posts through tags and music related communities. GEMS is a general purpose community many post into because they think they get large upvotes. keep in mind, these whale accounts connected with the GEMS community only vote for post with a few cents on the clock. when more than a few cents, they generally dont vote. that said, the GEMS whales also vote for all sort of posts outside the GEMS community; I suppose they look for any posts on the HIVE chain with a few cents on the clock and they also spread their votes across many different users, meaning high frequent posters won't get their support on all their posts, just a sub-selection of them. what there exact rules are, I dont know, but this is what I see. just a little info on the realities of HIVE and GEMS :)
Pretty piece, @deeanndmathews, and it's really nice with the pictures of tulips. Did you take all those pictures? They are amazing.
I hope you have recovered from your injury and can be active again!
Thank you for listening! The pictures were from Pixabay this time around ... I haven't been able to get out and do my photo thing this spring, but maybe summer or fall! The music I did on my home piano this spring!
I have made a complete recovery this year, after three years of at first complete and then partial disability -- thank you for asking!
