Today I took the step. A writeup showing some of the posts that I like. For years this crossed my mind, to help others get a bit more of a spotlight. But I didn't feel like just listing a bunch of them. Mainly, for all the reasons what I always dreamed of the Q-community to be about. In essence, a channel where we talk from our mind, our heart.
Let me know if I succeeded in my attempt. Don't be shy! When I screwed up, tell me. Although it sounds easy, it isn't at all. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the below.
Now and then The Readingman shows up with publications, listing some form of art. This time with a topic I love: "the underdogs, the alternatives, and the people who are still making great music", as The Readingman wrote himself. Must admit, to me most of the listed bands and singers aren't underdogs at all. But they may be for the newer generations, I donno. For me, most of the 10 listed tracks are well known from the past; At least, for me.
Although The Readingman presents us with some information about each song we can easily find in many places on the biggest Internet we all know, he is adding his views, opinions and notes. Makes it all so much more personal, while staying away from sounding like a journalist.
Interested in learning some of the hits and legends from the past? Dig in! Don't get overwhelmed by the more than 2000 words. He seems to be like me; 2k+ words is what I end up frequently as well. I do try to lower such count a bit these days.
Love the number 1 all the way down at the bottom: Depeche Mode. A much respected band by many electronic artists! For many, one of the best early bird electronic bands; Especially by those that had the chance to experience planet earth back in time when they constantly hit the top x.

The title made me open the post. First scan made me read it. A brief but life-changing decision contribution by Meno, writing about a concept he is going to pitch soon to some local venue. I do hope he and his wife get traction since I very much like their creative approach. Raffles instead of entrance fees. The give away: The art created on the spot. Here at HIVE we have many contests and shizzle, but I never heard somebody doing this in real life. Not that I know many artists, but still, a bit more than the average Jo around the corner. Meno: "I wish you and your wife a lot of success with your plans."

That was a spot on community choice by Clare for her post. A proper Rant. Wirex is the one that is not helping her at all while this banking service seems to be very much ok with her man! I somehow like our Rant community. Perhaps because it is not just about ranting. Some, like Clare, add much extra to the rant itself. Looks to me, she is able to handle the downsides of life with much positivity! While reading, I thought: "All things should be a bit easier in my country of residence!"
I never lived in Portugal or Italy myself. I heard tons of stories though. In my country, the one that is called something like 'the low lands', we seem to be more organised. But perhaps we are not. Though I never had bad experiences with banks. Other than the fact it is mighty difficult to access funds, after someone, or multiple someones, robbed my account empty. Police report. The Banks hackers department, taking the lead. Research department doing their thing. Weeks and weeks of investigations, without the possibility to get access to funds at all. "Go to family or friends", was what they said. Eventually: all good and the decision by my bank to re-imburse all stolen funds. All this happened when hacking bank accounts was just started. When social engineering was robbing the postbox empty to get to the details. When everything was done with paper checks; No internet services or smartphone apps. Anyways, this isn't about my experiences, but about those of Clare and Vincent.

Again, the title did it. Plus the author. Someone active in our communities for years. Well, for as long as I can remember really. Reading the first paragraph left me jaw-dropped: "Do they have that many car/vehicle related accidents?", I thought. Then the second jaw-dropping moment: "Is diabetes a problem in Asia?" I always thought food in Asia is on the healthier side of things; Lots of fresh vegetables, fresh seafood and all that. But I suppose, the big ass sugar and fat foodchains also did their thing on the other side of the planet. Who knows a song that goes along with this publication?

WOW! I did it! Written just shy of a 1000 words! Though, I did want to include more posts. That said, I don't want to bore you either. I gave myself a task earlier this year. Nope, not at January 1st, but slightly later, the third week of January to be exact. After I re-read my post above, I wonder if I was able to avoid the lengthy 'convos' by applying a cut to the chase approach. For that, I should've just listed the posts I liked without any writeup. Or perhaps just a tiny little sentence at max? But that goes against my principles. We want something to read, to be entertained and perhaps something to learn from? or not?

Welcome back, my friend! 🙂
There is no better way to come back than by writing a post where you highlight other great Hivians! Sharing is caring!!! 💜
PS. I didn't understand whose bank was robbed. Yours or Clare's? I understood your account, but I can't remember that you told me that story... I want to hear it ALL! But, maybe better in live, with a coffee by our side... In Graz... 😃
I have picked this post on behalf of the @OurPick project! Check out our Reading Suggestions Posts!
Please consider voting for our Liotes HIVE Witness. Thank you!
Thanks man!
And yes, let's share some stories very very soon in Graz.
Yesterday booked my flights, so this one is a 100% for sure destination.
Somebody said: perhaps no funding for this event bcs of Blocktrades pushed up the bar for payable proposals. Didnt follow any for it. Whenever this is the case, we just have a mini vacation without HIVE 😎
I feel like this is the beginning of something really good ... you are a good storyteller with an eye for good storytellers. I'm glad you got your money back, and your storytelling introduced Clare's storytelling, which in turn helped me know that my uneasy feelings about moving into Wirex for some things may be justified because of how they are treating her. I probably would never have seen that article but for you.
Yeah, getting my money back wasn't too difficult. The bank clearly made an error by serving someone with a fake ID with my details on it. These days bank fraud is much more difficult to prove, since most of these robberies start with getting passwords through social engineering.
Thanks for the compliment. And yes, I may create more of this type of posts, but will not be regular, knowing myself. Am glad you saw value in it. So many of these crypto cards around. Some must be better too Wirex. Just checked their website. What surprised me positively is the fact that they have the PCI-DSS compliance. This is a security compliance framework created by the CC companies and applied by any respectable payment service provider.
