WOW, really nice to read this little corner at HIVE fulfils your interdisciplinary needs, urges and wishes.

Photography and subjects: As you, I rarely take pictures with humans in them. Well, not as the main object. I kinda hate when people (friends, for instance) jump in front of the camera when I try to take a picture of some scenery. By now, they know and perhaps even understand me 😆 Still, they ask me to document my adventures when they are not with me, and share them with them. I rarely do though, since I de-learned to grab the 'camera. Instead, I try and seize the moment, not getting distracted by taking photographs.

NJOY the remainder of 2024 and wish you already a great 2025.

Sort:

Happy New Year and thank you ... I feel like my photography is a collection in a self-centered culture to 1. Not generally be the subject myself 2. Decenter humanity and its constant demands and just be in the beauty of the world. Sometimes this is a relief that even music cannot provide me as a composer, for so much of my musical energy is under use in my community, and at the same time the same community cannot provide me outlet for my larger works.

There is much to what you say about not being distracted -- in the warmer portions of the year, I will walk 5-7 days a week, and there may be 1-2 days I choose to document in full. There are some days too beautiful to not document ... and there are some days too beautiful to do anything but experience.
